if you don't like the topic don't post in it

anyway i agree, though he can't kill fighter(he's tried) he should at least kill theif and red mage. especially theif

Hate to break it to all the BMphiles out there, but Black Mage is inept when it comes to killing Player Characters. Every character in 8-Bit Theatre is inept in at least someway, some moreso than others, and this includes Black Mage. It just so happens that Black Mage is incapable of killing his other party members, that's his particular ineptness.

And the person that Black Mage was targeting when he went to cast the spell would accidently avoid it. Or else the casting of the spell would fail. I'm telling you, his ineptitude is his inability to kill any Player Characters. Can't fight it, it's just part of BM's character.

Let me ask something here......

Why would it make sense for Black Mage to kill anybody? Would it add to the story? Would it be funny?

Granted, it would make sense for the character....but I just can't see it adding to the story. What would happen if he killed EVERYONE else? Would the comic be more funny? I'd argue it wouldn't. Without Fighter, Red Mage, and Thief for Black Mage to talk to, you'd have him hanging out in the forest...pretty much doing nothing.

jetboat 03-11-2004 02:47 PM

ya, sure it would be funny but not at any point after that. and besides, when ever he has the urge to kill one of his companions, he has already used his haidoken and he isn't willing to use any other spell.

Thnikkaman 03-11-2004 04:07 PM

It is funny. See, futility is humorus. (hope i spelled it right) Besides, if BM won, then all sorts of stuff would happen involving world domination and pie, and then 8bit would end. But I ramble on and on and on, don't look at me.

I just have two words, Meat Shield. BM is a pure mage, he can't fight worth a darn, stabbing yes, backstabbing yes, face to face fighting no. He needs minions/helpless fops/etc to absorb the blows for him, hence the reason Fighter is currently out of the running through his mindless babbling, he failed as the meat shield. Thief could use his agility to evade, but I'm sure that BM has a contingency plan for that somewhere in that devious brain of his. RM....well...he's just too incompitent for much else, other than providing perplexing problems and creating confusing conundrums to baffle the enemy long enough for BM to power up his spells. Course...I could be wrong about all this and Snefix could be right, he's just to incompetent on that particular aspect.
