YouTube and Dairanger
So, I was going on YouTube to watch a bit of Dairanger and found it was all removed. On the notice, there was some kanji, which Babel Fish translated as Toei Co., Ltd. They requested the entire series be removed for copyright infringement. Which means I'm not getting a new avatar. :shifty:
So, the question becomes this: it was on YouTube because there's nowhere else to get it (that I've found in the past minute in English). What's the point of removing a visually degraded, 10-year-old series that isn't making money anyway from a site that allows people to view it? I'm sure a ton of Japanese people have it on tape. Short of offering the series on DVD for money, does it make sense to do that? NOTE: This isn't about me finishing off the series or making my animated GIFs of the roll call. This is a question of the sense it makes to remove a series from public viewing that has almost certainly hit a monetary wall for the company. |
Maybe look around on dailymotion.com ??
I tend to find some things there that I can't elsewhere. If you're proficient in French you can find A LOT, as it seems to be a heavily french uploaded site. |
That would be perfect. I need to use it more often. :D :sweatdrop
|
Oh, and don't forget veoh.
|
If dailymotion isn't your thing (because, sacre bleu, tu ne peux pas parler français parce que tu es foutu), you can always try veoh.com.
Not that I use any of those. Nope, not at all. Edit: Quel dommage! J'ai été "ninjé"!! |
It's okay Regulus..some day...somewhere...
.. pickles. |
Je ne suis pas bête, et je la parle bien. :shifty:
But Veoh has the first ten and subbed by TV Nihon, to boot. Hopefully more to come, as I was hoping for roughly 14-15 or so. |
wait, you mean Japan actually cared about a copyright? Japan doesn't care about their own people ripping them off why would they be concerned about fan subbers releasing something in a country they cant buy it in anyways (well, most places you cant)
|
That generalisation is a bit unfair, if you ask me. I've never heard about Japanese companies ripping anybody else's ideas. Now, China is another story...
|
well its not that I see blatent copies, but lots of ripping off. I mean there are entire stories full of fancomics. Most of which are pornographic I should add
