Braaaiiiinnnnssss....
Dispite what anyone may tell you, zombie movies rock. They are the end all be all of horror monsters. I have never been let down by a zombie movie. And this summer there are not one or two, but THREE zombie movies for my (and hopefully your) viewing pleasure.
The first is a remake of a classic horror movie, featuring zombies in a shopping mall. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you: Dawn of the Dead Second is what looks to be a pretty funny british comedy, Shaun of the Dead Lastly, who can forget the new Resident Evil movie? I liked the first one and this one looks even better. |
when is RE: Apocalypse coming out? it jsut says "2004" :(
besides that, i cant wait for Kill Bill: Vol 2, which was uspposed to be out last month. is it out yet? |
Argh! I couldn't stand Kill Bill! Something about Uma Thurman makes me wish it was her head splattered everywhere!
I realize that's my opinion, but I stand by it, by golly! Resident evil was the only one I have hope for, mostly because I liked the cliffhanger they had at the end of that movie. Chick with a shotgun, wearing a hospital gown in the middle of a ruined city about to be blown away? Sweet! |
Edit: The new RE movie is out October 1.
Kill Bill Vol. 2 should be out April 16. Yay. |
(Kill Bill rocked.)
I have this pet peeve. I cant stand in action movies when people are shooting at things, and it just seems to have no effect what so ever. Like, no one dies, or the bullets dont even seem to HIT anything. Like buildings. Its like practically screaming in your face "We're using blanks!". It bugs me to death. Like, in RE, they'd be shooting a zombie, and he'd jerk around and stuff. Then they'd change camera angles, and the guy'd still be shooting the zombie, but now the gun doesnt seem to be hitting ANYTHING. Errghh!! Other than that, I thought RE was ok...I have high hopes for the second one. My favorite zombie movie was 28 Days Later though. Those zombies were freaky as hell! The scariest thing was just how fast they moved. |
i disliked 28 days later. mostly because the trailers made it look liek constant, scary as hell zombie terror. but then its like "woohoo! we're on a road trip! watching horsies!"
and NONE of the main characters die via being ripped to shreds by zombies. one guy gets bit, the the bitch kills him. Adn the dad dies because blood drops in his eye. WTF? i expect people to be grusomely torn into bits in my zombie movies! other then that, it was an ok movie. just not what i expected http://andrew.cmu.edu/user/buml/zombie.html my record is 200 kills |
I have a whole new level of respect for Uma thurman after seeing Kill Bill: Vol 1(its funny the DVD comes out three days before the movie but I got it earlier from an alternate coutry), but what does that have to do with Zombie movies? My personal favorite is Army of Darkness. (hopefuly they want make a new version of that series...) This new Resident Evil might be good hopefully.

If you want another zombie fix, but in literary form, grab The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. Its great, but be warned, it takes its subject matter completely serious. It is very subtle humor, so it isn't for anyone, but it does make for a great conversation peice sitting on your coffee table.
I remember the Evil dead movies, and Army of Darkness. I liked the alternate ending more than the one they stuck on there. |
For my money, The Night of the Living Dead triliogy are the best zombie movies. They are everything I expect in a zombie movie. Gore, trapped people, lot's o screamin'. Perfect.
