My own avatars.
Well, as some people know, I make all my own avatars, and I'm getting pretty good at them. I've also done avatars and sprites for various people, including
Phantom7 (2 (1 unused), plus various comic sprites) ProphetX (1) Mauve (3 comic sprites, 1 unused) Fenris (1 comic sprite) Skyshot (2 comic sprites, 1 unused) Khael (5 comic sprites, 2 unused) Demon With a Glass Hand (1 comic sprite, because you asked for it :p ) I was just wondering how many other people did their own avatars. Or if anyone wants to be added to the fold, I'll happily make an attempt. |
My avatar is a cropped part of a comic I drew... So yes, I made mine.
|
I drew my own avatar, too. My past one was also drawn by me.
|
I used to, and I ought to again.
|
If I could, I'd make my own. But I can't.
|
I wish I had drawn mine.
But, Blue would you mind making one for me? I know I don't really talk to you personally, but I could make up for the effort with endless praise. I just think an 8-bit Magneto would rule. |
I don't like my art generally enough to turn it into an avatar. But I generally have some hand in it, either cropping it, or turning it into a gif, or editing the picture.
Me drawing my own avatar would just mean that I had to look at it all of the time. |
How much works makes it your own? I screen-capped and cropped my current one myself. I animated my Kanpatchi avatar and edited the sprites a bit in doing so. For a while I had Zutsujin's drawing of a guy that wasn't me but looked like me that I cropped. Really, the closest I've come to making my avatars from scratch was back when Mike and I shared an account and I made animations of our sprites fighting each other. Sadly, those were lost when my old desktop died suddenly last year, along with my Kimbley Kitty avatars and a bunch of the comics I've drawn over the years (though none of my NPF comics).

Most avatars are images I've cropped such as this one i am using right now

Yeah, it'd depend on the definition of "make." To the extent that I crop / edit / toy with my own avatars, I make them. There are varying degrees; some of them I did a lot of work on and are more creative, so for the most part, I think of them as "mine." Most of them, though, I just kind of hack together, like this one I did when everyone else was pasting Santa hats onto their usual avatar:
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/5646/619180xd6.jpg I was tempted to use it to coincide with my sig, but it's still a month too early. I don't usually do them from scratch; I don't make things specifically to be used as an avatar, and I don't like looking my own art, either. Of course, I say that having just switched to something I drew, but I don't turn my stuff into an avatar often. |
