Metalocalypse
 

I got the Metalocalypse DVD for my birthday, and I have to say that even though I don't listen to death metal, I like Dethklok. Like, Dethklok is something I like listening to.

It's very strange.

Also, the show is great, with only one or two episodes that I didn't like (the one with Dr. Rockso was really lame in my opinion).

Really, Toki and Skwisgarr could have their own show and it would be okay, but the characters are all really neat to watch interacting with each other and the world.

Now go buy the album and the cycle will be complete.

I have to live with the curse that they will never make a Snakes 'n' Barrels album. It haunts me every day.

I don't normally listen to a lot of death metal either, but I saw this show on Adult Swim and almost fell in love with it. It's like someone took Metallica (before they became asshats) and ATHF and put it in a blender on puree, poured it into a tall glass, and added an orange slice. It's like a death metal smoothie XD

Considering I love death metal, yeah this show = awesome. There's always plenty of violence and while yeah they poke fun at a lot of metal songs (Murmaider, it's mermaid murder! and there's also the coffee one from the first episode) some of them are very sweet (Thunderhorse comes to mind). I thought Dr. Rockso was hilarious poking fun at David Lee Roth as long as you keep that in mind. After watching the entire season a few of my friends have picked up this bad habit now to randomly whisper "I do cocaine".

Thankfully they don't put their hand into someone's pocket when they say it like Dr. Rockso.

Also it was too much like that Robot Chicken thing with Steven Tyler "I JUST SHOT CRACK INTO BOTH OF MY EYEBALLS!"

And by that we mean totally true to life.

Anyway, I've always felt like Metalocalypse was kinda hit-or-miss and can often be a bit formulaic at times with its whole "Spinal Tap with a horrific twist at the end" groove that it has. That said, I still consider it to be far and away one of Adult Swim's three best current shows along with Robot Chicken and Frisky Dingo.

Also, "Dimmu Burger" still makes me giggle uncontrollably.

Finest show since the ATHF.
It's like Seinfeld on acid.


As for metalocalypse, I am not as huge of a fan of that show as some, but I definitely like it when they get the "secret group that controls everything" together. That is some funny shit.

honestly when I first saw the series, I thought everytime that group got together it would always end with
"we wait" *fades to black*

granted either that happens or they fail and suck. But it did make for an awesome season one finale
