Personally, I think the Wii would be a great system for the Metal Gear franchise, so we’ll just have to sit back and see if anything happens.

Source: Reports suggest that Metal Gear Solid publishers Konami are unhappy with the current rate of sales of Sony’s PS3, leading to speculation that Metal Gear Solid could find it’s way onto Wii.A quote from Kazumi Kitaue, a man with possibly the best name I’ve heard all day and coincidentally the head of Konami’s operations in America and Europe, reinforced these rumours somewhat:

“I wonder if Sony can win back user support by the price cut of just $100. I don’t expect a substantial impact … With $500, you can buy a personal computer.

Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps.”

What do you think? Personally, I dun think it's such a great idea.

Metal Gear Solid 4? Please, no.
Spin-offs? Hell yeah, Just don't do the same you did with Twin Snakes.

I fully anticipate, if it's not been announced yet, that MGS4 is going to be on the 360 as well as the PS3.
Because lets be honest, EVERYONE wants to be on both of those systems.
It allows them to hit a wider audience and gain more moolaaahh.

Sorry man, but i really dont see it happening... Kojima is solid on it (get it?) and it's HIS franchise first and foremost...

Plus, it's about disc space really... MGS4 wont fit on a single DVD, not without major downgrades...

however, i could see a few spinoffs for MGS on the Wii... remakes and ports wont really work because of the controle scheme... but a mix-and-match of Resident Evil 4 and MGS could create a few really good games...

If a MGS remake does come on the Wii, I hope that they do it right unlike what they did to Twin Snakes. I doubt that MGS4 is coming on the Wii though. Also, what's with all those random A's in the post?

They use the word "future" 3 times in 3 sentences, and at the same place every time. "In the future" or "in the near future".

...And I say that Metal Gear doesn't really belong on the wii in its current form, unless you bring the original Metal Gear games to VC, or unless you revamp the gameplay.

I agree, plus, even though Id buy a Wii for a Metal Gear game, I wouldntlike it with motion controls.

I think it's a bad idea because... let's take MGS4 here:

For the PS3, it has been shown that players will have a very wide array of camera angles to chose from - such as the normal third person, over the shoulder and full on FPS.

Now, if it is ported to the Wii, I see it being solely an FPS or an over the shoulder game, because the Wii controls wouldn't be complex enough to control Snake otherwise. Now, because of this, the game would have to change - there would either have to be less enemies or Snake would have to be stronger. I could see them taking out some of the stealth parts of the game in order to facilitate the transition.

I may be an elitist arse, but I don't think the Wii as a system is able to make a proper port of MGS, be it MGS 4 or other MGS games.

I just want it to stay exclusive to PS3, because I want a reason to have one past this Christmas, which seems to be not so much in the happening at the moment in time.

Ok, because nearly everyone seems to have problem with Twin Snakes, what exactly was wrong with Twin Snakes?
