Kane and Lynch
*WARNING!*
(This is a mature rated game that is amoral and could possibly give nightmares. You have been warned!) Ya know... Out of all the games coming out this holiday season, this one plus Assassin's Creed are right up there in forms of games to play. 1) I'm not a guy to play Advance Wars and Castlevania forever (though it's good to play every now and then) 2) Being an older male, I think I can handle the content 3) Reading up on a psychopath you come to hate and a remorseful mercernary does make for some interesting storyline, even if it's just an excuse to make bank robberies (Hey! It's cops and Robbers for Dummies! :D) Your view? |
I heard about this game a lot but I never bothered to look into it... what's so special about it?
|
Is this based off a show or something? Waht exactly is Kane and Lynch?
|
It's the makers of Hitman. However, in one of the newspapers from I think the first Hitman, there's a blurb about two felons escaping en route to Death Row. ;)
Kane is an ex mercernary who crossed the wrong people and ended up on Death Row in California. Lynch is a crazy psychopath who has to watch Kane. He killed his own wife and he's a LOOOSE cannon on medication... I'm not too sure on ALL of the story. From what I can gather, there was a botched job that has Kane suffer from a broken nose and a scar on his right eye. Soooo... both of them have to work together in bank heists and a few other things. That's the gist. |
I've watched quite a few trailers, seems pretty fun. Mainly for it's grittier, almost Reservoir Dogs style, especially the crowd dispersal AI.

I hope this is on the 360 cause.... WANT NOW!!!

To be fair, I'll give links to all the "Official" trailers:
1) Prison Break - http://www.gametrailers.com/player/24977.html 2) Pycho's Words - http://uk.gamespot.com/video/934403/...cial-trailer-3 3) Mercer's Remorse - http://www.gametrailers.com/player/24115.html 4) Jenny's Confession - http://uk.gamespot.com/video/934403/...cial-trailer-5 Final thing about the game before its release: Multiplayer isn't about capturing a flag. You coop with other robbers to take a certain objective (drugs, money, etc.) Easy right? *Ahem* Something to twist the idea. At any time, someone can backstab you and your team for the money. They'll be labeled a traitor and if they get away, they get the whole pie. All that hard work you put in to kill that security guard? He he he... You become the SWAT or whatever and ambush your former teammates. So basically, there's three different factors in the multi. Your team aspect and how you can handle all the different people. The greed aspect of who is most likely to take you out for the individual score before the rendezvous. And the police who's trying to stop everyone. Interesting dynamic... You've been spendin' too much time in the RO forums, me thinks. Forgotten about the good ole double postin' rule haven't ya?
Anyway, posts merged. Try not to let it happen again. |

It's looked pretty cool to me, I admire any game that attempts to create a "buddy" story but with the twist that the "buddies" are vicious bank robbers.
Which one do you play as, anyway? From the previews I have read it seems like you play as one of the two (I think the less sadistic one) and the other one is AI controlled/story controlled. I haven't seen anything about possible co-op, though... |
