Assassins Creed - Thread
So, this amazing piece of Software can be your in just a few days
Who is Waiting for it? What's AC Secret? This is a Thread for the Upcoming Reviews (this week!!) and First Impressions from anyone who buys it I saw a couple of videos of this game a few days ago... im not sure, but it's a good feeling about it... it's just... feels fresh. The Story seems really great, and the Gameplay brings elements that we wanted to see for AGES now... and the Sci-Fi Spin is really getting to me... i dont even own a PS3 or 360 and WANT to know all about it.... So, what about you? Also, is it ok for me to post a link for the AC Comic book (scan of all pages) that comes with the Limited edition? |
I think the guard AI seems really hella gay.
"ASSSASSSIIII-GRK" Thank god I silenced him before he sounded the alarm. Then you know jumping onto a commanding officer's head and stabbing him while he's lecturing his troops, you know his fifteen to twenty highly trained, disciplined, professional killing machines, and then having them circle you in outrage for what you've done and attack you one at a time before you get bored of the tired and rehashed combat controls and walk past the soldiers who will, noncommittally and clumsily sort of shamble after you, kind of takes away from the game enjoyment for me. |
Been waiting for so long, and I'm probably going to skeet all over my furniture and throw all my other 360 games in the garbage when I finally get my hands on Assassin's Creed.
To be fair: the game does appear to have its problems. So what, says I. Every game has problems. I'm going to be more than happy based on what I've seen in gameplay videos and trailers. Also, heard the game is going to be the first game in a trilogy; so, I figure, if I buy it, that helps the next ones get made, and then those ones get made right, and then I'm happy forever. My logic is FLAWLESS! |
Don't the soldiers come in three tiers?
Like a leader, the stoic fighter, then the demoralized coward? |

one who will charge into battle blindly to get stabed (aka Sargent doomedtofail) and the deff and stupid look out:whee: |
I heard that you can jump off of buildings and into hay bales and shit like that and the funny thing is that nobody nearby really takes notice :D Though maybe they changed that in the actual game...
Also, I heard that the controls are hella weird. |
If there's birds perched on a roof edge, it means there's going to be a safe cover/landing there and you can make a "leap of faith", yeah.

The controls are hella weird.
That's what people are saying, anyway. So far as I know, various buttons are mapped to different parts of Altair's body. There's also a way to control how "aggressive" the command is; I think it can be controlled with how hard you press the analog in whatever direction, but I believe there's also a shoulder-button you can depress to change the level of intensity. For instance, in a crowd, you could push the analog toward some jackass and the "arms" button to shove him away. Alternately, you could do it with the "intensity" button pressed, and you'd just sort of guide him out of your way. Combat, I've read, works pretty similarly. You've got throwing knives, a dagger, your sword, and your fists (which I've read are useful, as guards often ignore the odd street brawl as no lethal weapons are employed). Different buttons control different parts of the body -- so like, if you're rocking the dagger, you can use the "free hand" button to grab a guy and toss'em off a roof, stuff like that. The "Head" button controls what Raymond referred to as Altair's 'Intuition.' Sensing the crowd's attitude toward Altair. Detecting a target in the vicinity. Stuff like that. I remember reading a long time ago that all the game's spoken dialogue would be in Arabic, and would only be understandable to an English-only demographic while in Intuition mode. Seems that isn't going to be the case in the finished version of the game. The platforming aspects of the game seem hella awesome. Seems like anything Altair can hook the first digit of at least two fingers on, he can climb on top of. This is a big draw for me, Prince of Persia fan that I am. So yes, the controls haven't been tried before, although I read a review of Uncharted which compared that game's combat to Creed's. Still, hella weird tends to turn into hella good with a little practice -- I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers playing FPS games with tank-style controls. |

i also agree that the controls are hella-weird. but at the same time it adds the twist that makes this game simi-intresting |
button system has a strangle logic to me. One of those things when you hear you realize how little sence traditional button mapping makes. Kinda like when you find out when keyboards aren't in alphabetical order. As for the game, I'm gonna wait and see. This is either gonna be one of the best games ever or a steaming pile
PS STOP SAYING HELLA |
