Lucky Finds

So, I walked on in to EB last Thursday, to get my order of KoF XI, unfortunately, it had not yet arrived, and wont for another 10 days... As I turned to leave the store, I noticed a game. Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne: Directors Cut (has a bonus OST) for a mere $50. Score.

Waht are some of your lucky finds?

As I was walking through Victoria, I found the original Theif: The Dark Project for $5. Imma huge fan of stealth action games, and this one was the first stealth game I played - so it was both a great find and nostalgia worthy.

This isn't so much a find but more like a VERY lucky break on a good deal. Less than a week ago I finally broke down and bought a 360. One of the games I knew I absolutely needed was Gears of War so I looked at the local Best Buy to see what price it was at. Even though the game has been out for roughly a year or so (I think?) it was still priced at $59.99. I said "Screw that" and went a couple of streets down to a little known gaming store called Game Krazy to buy a used copy. I went in and the used copy was selling for $44.99 so I figured I might as well just get it since it was getting late and most of the other stores were closing.

I took it up to the cash register and the guy scanned the box and he paused for a minute saying something wasn't right. He then scanned it a few more times and told me I'm getting a steal on it because the instead of the used game price coming up it was only coming up as the TRADE-IN price of $12.37. Needless to say since it was 5 minutes before the store was closing the guy let me have it at that price since he wasn't a manager and couldn't change it anyway. I walked out a very happy man. The next day my friend tried going there to get a copy of Gears of War for the same price but by that time they had fixed the glitch.

Some of my luckiest video game finds:

Chrono Trigger - $6
Kingdom Hearts - $2
Jak and Daxter - $2 (I bought this for a friend)

I did find Earthbound for about $10 once but, sadly... I didn't have the money.... (spent it on Chrono Trigger)

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PS One wayyyyyy back when it first came out: £10.

I paid $10 for a new copy of Earthbound once long ago.

Yesterday I got Disgaea: Hour of Darkness for $10, and about 2 months ago I traded Chrono Cross to someone for Suikoden 2.

FFX - $19.99, as it was the last one in back stock, new.
Chrono Cross - $9.99, used, but in perfect condition.
Grandia Xtreme - $3.33, under a 3 for $10 deal with an X-Men game and some crappy music maker, all used, but in perfect condition.
The Legend of Dragoon - $10.99, new.

I once did a school job for a friend of mine back in High School. It was a research on a topic of choice, so it was somewhat easy.

The next day, he came and told me he didn't have any money, but he offered me "Arc the Lad Collection". I was happy to comply.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, practically brand new for $3. Yeah.

And then Megaman Battle Network 2 for $5 with the stupid Network secret chip star that I never get since I only need 1 copy of any given game. Double score.

Flarecobra 11-20-2007 03:17 PM

Brand-new X-box360 for $200.

And the X-wing series of games on 2 CDs for $20.
