For the Canadian aged ~22-26
Ok, how many Canadians who were born in the 80's and grew up in the 90's remembers these?? Prepare to take a trip back in TIME!
And if you wanna have some fun, try to guess WHAT these are by their names, and my title, before you click the links.. Bells and Whistles The Pyramid Duckies! Breaking the Ice P.S. these were just my favorites, and there are of course many more. The Original Minds Eye, and Beyond the Minds Eye are where they all originated from despite some of our nostalgic memories |
Oh god, I used to love these! Especially the one with all the shapes and it was like a car going around some weird land of geometry. These were the greatest thing to grace the tv ever! Along with Reboot. :P You sir, are a hero for finding these. I always wondered what happened to them.
I never quite got the Pyramid one, though. Edit: Heart of the Machine This was my favourite of them all. I always wanted to be like the circle thing at the end, for some reason. |
I just really liked the music in "the pyramid". Same with Bells and Whistles. The other two just had deeper meaning to them, and thus, I thought were pretty cool.
Now.. who wants to touch me? I said who wants to fucking touch me! lol edit: also, for anyone who's curious, the "Bells and Whistles" theme has been continued in a series of 3D animations called "Animusic" they are awesome. double edit: I couldn't resist |
Oh man, i remember these! Breaking the Ice was allways my favorite.
EDIT - I have MP3's of most of these. If anyone wants one, PM me. |
This is really cool. I'm neither Canadian or 22-26 though. I can see why they made Reboot. Kudos to Torque for the Reboot plug.
These videos remind me of Super Mario 64 in their settings and dream-like qualities. Well, the pyramid one, breaking the ice, and the Heart of the Machine anyway. It is easy to get lost in the visuals in these. |
I don't wanna give it away for anyone who hasn't taken a look at them, but those video clips were an integral part of a popular Canadian kids/youth channel back in the early nineties, so while I certainly don't mean to suggest you can't watch or even enjoy them, I imagine the nostalgia is prolly lost on anyone not canadian :P

Holy crap, I remember that stuff. Wow that sure takes me back. And reboot was awesome.
|
I think I've only ever seen the first one before...but that was in a hotel when I was little. We didn't have any fun channels at home.

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT!!
That's my childhood!! You found it! Thankyouthankyouthankyouaouauuoglaaah... I'm about three years younger than the ages you listed, but eh. I'm not kidding. Audiovisual things of this nature are pretty much what helped shape who I am. They melted my little kid-brain into the complex incomprehensible mess - er, mass, that it is today. Yay I'm so goddamned giddy! Somebody help me find more! I never got to see to the end of all of them since they were just commercial fillers between channel 25's Reboot and Beast Wars/Beasties. |
Holy shit, I remember these, I was like 6 when they were on TV.
