Castlevania: SOTN
Woohoo!
I just got Castlevania: Symphony of the Night today. I won it on eBay. The best part is it's a non-used copy, and I got it for $20, including shipping. How's that for a good deal? |
Sweet deal. I think I payed 35 for my used copy, although it was still in excellent condition. I like the Castlevania series, although not every game is worth playing. I really like the storyline in between games. If you don't follow it very well, you don't even realize how much the games can intertwine using people like the Belnades. Symphony of the Night was a great one. Not quite sure if it was the best one, but definantly one of the top.

That's good. Its going for 17 used on half.com, but with shipping its the same thing. -_-
And I think SotN was the best Castlevania. And I'm a Castlevania fanatic. My second favorite would be CVIII on the original NES, probably followed by AoS or CV: Bordo of Blood (sp). And the Castlevania storyline is one of the best in gaming history, if you go and look it all up. |
ALL of it....ugh....great but impossibly complex. Reminds me of Mega Man X - there's a huge ass story between the seven games, but you don't know it's there if you just play the games.
Yeah, nice deal. I got my copy for 15 bucks from a game trader. |
I'd only played it a few times before I bought it and thought it was great. Has anyone played Lament of Innocense? I heard it was kind of boring.

Heh. sorta.
It did exist, but it was really wierd. Like after you beat Mega Man X3 you see this message. "All MegaManX knows is, he must destroy zero for the good of mankind." Zero was originally supposed to die in the first X game. But they liked him so they brought him back for X2. Then in X3 he died again because now that you can play as him, and he was useless (or next to useless). But it's OK, MMX4 was the best one. |
just go to www.classicgaming.com/castlevania and read it all. I did. Its quite crazy. And SotN is the game where the main director (forgot name) of all the CV games since (except Circle of the Moon) started to tie all the story together.
|
Speaking of Circle of the Moon, have they explained yet how that family (forgot names) got ahold of the whip.
One problem with the Castlevania series is that there are discrepencies in the plot. For example: I think the official verdict is that the two Castlevania's for 64 never happened. Also dracula is supposed to be ressurected every 50 years, yet that would be impossible with all the games they have out. Sometimes, they have given reasons for early ressurection and other times a reason isn't given. I know there are more plot line problems, but I can't think of them. Most are minor things they could just say "this happened, that didn't". |
sotn is a great game, I replayed it (still had the original cd) not too long ago. I still remembered the best sword in the game was found in the inverted library.
