The New FF RP (sign-up)

OK, since the FF RP ‘won’ here it is.

(Sorry for it being so late, went to a triple inning overtime baseball game, and had to rewrite the whole thing since Word deleted it...I found I have really bad notes *Actual Excerpt: Demon are lots and kill things, band of people kill master*)

[Story]
Eons and ages ago, the world of Gramza was peaceful and serene, and all the races lived in an understood truce of sorts, although minor and insignificant skirmishes did occur. Then one day, the peace was broken and all races were thrown into battle against the Horde, a demonic ‘race’ that seemed endless in both number and bloodlust. No matter how many were killed, twenty times as many came back, and all hope seemed lost.

A small group of warriors banded together and fought their way through the Mursang, the Horde’s frontline, to the core of the enemy’s army and discovered a portal leading to Hell or something that looked very much like it. By some unspecified way, the portal was closed, and the Horde’s appropiatly titled Leader was sent away with it, into the darkest reaches of Gramza’s farthest moon.

With dwindling and unreplenishable numbers, the Horde backed off in confusion and mayday, prefering to hide in fear from their enemies.

But all did not return to the peaceful serenity. Races accused others of not being helpful enough, and since the Horde still persisted there was no room for peace. Although over time things have settled down, there is still anymosity amongst the races. One race altogether disappeared during the Horde War.

The history of Gramza has become muddled also. Few still believe in the heroes who sent the Horde Leader away, and it has slowly become a bed-time story. Demons have always been around, they didn’t pop up one day. The concept of a Horde war is as ridiculous as that of the Floating City, the one that rides on the sky’s flames…

Our story begins with a new group of heroes, but their quest will not begin as bluntly as the first’s…
[/Story]

Ok, thats the basic story. It’ll get a lot more interesting as we go on, but some miscellaneous items I couldn’t add in there…

MAGIC
Anyone can be a White Mage, as White Magic comes from one’s goodness of soul. Black Magic on the other hand is a shared commodity. There can be no more or less than 30 Mages in Gramza (the world’s name FYI) at any time. If a Mage dies, another is born at that instant to preserve balance. For that reason, I don’t want any Warrior-Mages in this. If you choose a Magic job, thats it. *Blue Magic doesn’t follow these rules, PM me if you wanna know Blue Mage details*

The Races
Humans: These are the most plentiful, and they pride themselves on their large army. Most Human cities and towns are open to any race. They are also the most arrogant, and although they don’t yell it from the rooftops, most feel that they are superior.

Avion: Look like Humans, except for their taloned knees (from the kneecap down) and wings. They have mostly withdrawn themselves from the workings of the other races, but are not hated, just misunderstood. It is very rare to see an Avion out from Aviona (their home city), and almost impossible to see a group. They are the keepers of the Dragon spirits, the only way to communicate with the hidden Dragons, and thus the only ones who can be Dragoons.

Ibric: These are even more mysterious than the Avions. Wherever there is a forest, the Ibric are probably there unseen. Travelers have become lost in the Great Forests and faced the brink of death, only to find themselves in the aid of the Ibric, although once they have awakened they are promptly dumped outside, and no amount of searching can find their way back. The Ibric are masters of the unseen, mostly because their entire race is blind. Well, not blind, actually, the Ibrics lack eyes entirely, relying on their oversized ears and enhanced touch plus a mysterious sense the Ibric call Boeri (which is basically the ‘Daredevil’ sense, plus an enhanced magic detector), and are ruled by whoever is gifted with a single eye. Luckily, the single-eyed ruler is also highly intelligent and competent. The Ibrics are premier Ninjas or other forms of hidden warrior.

Half-Demons: The most tragic of all the races, Half-Demons are born whenever a Demon decides to take Human form and ‘intimately mingle’ with the Human population. The resultant offspring is mostly Human, but always bears an obvious mark of their mixed parenthood, be it spikes in the back, claws, what have you. They have no true home, and are never welcomed openly.

Shifter Clan: Not really separate races per say, but these people have developed the ability to ‘Shift’ to another form. Shifters can be found in almost any city, and are believed to have developed a hidden clan like existence, whereby they can find assistance from other Shifters in any city. Most have become outcasts when they are found out, necessitating the hidden lifestyle.

Besta: The most easygoing and friendly race. They are the self-appointed animal keepers of the world, and are almost always surrounded by Chocobos or some other animals. Besta tend to look mostly human except for varying animal parts, maybe a tail or doggy ears or the like. No two Besta look alike. Some believe that they can speak telepathically with their ‘pets’ (they call every animal their pet), but when asked directly they merely smile and change the conversation. (Trying to decide whether they should be playable, or NPC Hypello-like creatures)

Moogles: Not seen or heard of since the Horde War. Many believe they never existed, but pictures still float around, mostly in stories, so the belief in their continued existence lives on. (Only NPC, sorry)

Classes
You can be any class from any FF game. Only Avions can be Dragoons (they wuv their Dragon spirits, how preposterous to think a human can even see them), and Ibric make the best Assassins and Ninjas hands down, but Humans can be everything else. (NOTE: If you wanna be a Morpher, they’re called Shifters here, see above) (SECOND NOTE: PM me if you wanna be a Blue mage)

Cities
…will be up once somebody PMs me and we collaborate on a map, or I think up some names for places.

Heh, took the story of the last FF RP and just ended it...

I'm being a half-demon.

BMHadoken 03-13-2004 08:14 PM

Wait, how did the last one end?

IHateMakingNames 03-13-2004 08:16 PM

It didn't, but you took the Hell portal with supplies demons, and the demon leader from the FF RP (Or so it seems), and did in your past what would have been the end of that RP.

BMHadoken 03-13-2004 08:17 PM

I kinda dropped out after the second chapter, I have no clue what happened past that, but its different, trust me.

Aerozord 03-13-2004 08:19 PM

Sounds cool. Dont worry I'm not joining but I do wanna ask about the shifters. Is it that they are always some race but merely have the ability to be any race?

Forever Zero 03-13-2004 08:19 PM

Any class eh? Heh, it's Engineer time again! I'll have a sign-up later.

Krylo 03-13-2004 08:21 PM

Looking at how white/black magic are dealt with, I'm curious as to how the less... mundane abilities of a black/dark knight class would work (or any other class that uses 'magic like' abilities)?

BMHadoken 03-13-2004 08:23 PM

Well, if your an enginer, just keep in mind that the average tech level is still bows and arrows. Magic is considered the major weapon.

And Shifters are just anything that can Morph. But thanks for taking an interest.

Aerozord 03-13-2004 08:24 PM

Oh so you are saying that they are born into races and merely have this extra power, correct?

Dont worry I know you don't wish for me to join, but it looks like a good read. I look forward to it.
