3?! You guys are softies! Back at my old forum (which wil remain nameless fore the reason it sucked so hard...) There was this guy (I joined before him thank God) who shall not be named got 10 in a night. Of course this guy was bitter because he was hazed to hell and back and he "had the right to take out the n00b trash." But then you have the problem of course where no one wants to join in anymore because of this astronomical singularity. And that my new found comarades is why I am here. (other then the freaky factualism which is a different story.)
Now back to the RP so we control are summons like hidden powers okay. |
IHMN doesn't flame all the newbies, onyl those that join the RP forum, who are a very tiny minority of the Forum Population. Unleashing IHMN on every single n00b that tries to join, and not having the mods to regulate it... It would be an utter slaughter... And buddy, I would sell front row tickets to it...
|
My guess is that old forum was 1) Full of complete idiots. 2) Not nearly as uptight as this forum. 3) Very little mods, or low quality mods.
Edit - And I pick on idiots, not newbs. Idiots are easy targets because they are idiots. If a smart person joined in, like Demon when he first joined in, and I acted to him how I acted to MasterMage, I would have nothing to work off of because Demon is smart and uses grammar correctly. |
They are basically your guardian angels. They get called by the summoner, and then they do their best to kill anything that would try and kill you, their little...uh guardee. They don't last forever, because its draining on the summoner of course.
|
On number one your on target, on number two lets just say the rules were more like guidlines and on number three we'll the mods were biased and and we'll stupid. Hey 2 out of 3 isn't that bad...
Edit: Spiffy. that works out good for me if a Chimera is guarding me... |
For me, it's a guardian devil.

Name: Virgil Angelo - The Traveller in Black Age: For me to know, for you to find out. Race: Half-demon. Yeah. Blood type: Raw magic flows through his veins... okay, O+. Class: Chronomancer (AKA Time Mage) Weapon and Equipment: Wytchblade "Sol Invictus", his magic and his mind of evil. His rune armor and clothes count too, but he doesn;t sue them allt he time. Appearance: A man in a long black trench coat, with a black fedora on his head, carrying a seemingly harmless staff in his hand. He never appears to be paying attention to his surroundings, but he reacts to sudden threats as though they had always been there. In battle, he shucks off his clothes for his sword and armor, which he summons from nowhere. However, Sol Invictus is largely ceremonial - he's essentially an armored wizard. The sword is for self-defense. Summon: The sisters of fate, Clotho, Lethe and Atropos. He pays for each summoning with the thread of his life, though. The exact effects of summoning them is yet to be determined, however... Bio: (When I think of something good I'll put it up) Quote: "Thought is the arrow of time - memory never fades." Comments will be noted, thrown out the window, and acted on if good enough. |
Dante that is the coolest artwork I have seen in a long time...
|
That artwork? It's an Elder warlock, the showoff... I see someone has an affinity for all the Elder races...
|
I typically like to shy away from Time Magic...too god-moddy...mehbe another form of magic? And you won't really have to pay with your...uhh, fate strings...
|
And aren't most threads of life only one thread per person, not multiple threads?
|
I noticed but still nice job. I also would like to award IHMN with the two out of three ASCII Trophey!!! (so what if it looks like the stanley cup
edit: It stank had to take it out... I was also wondering about how he gets multiple life threads... |
Mlarg. Sorry, I was off making a new avatar.
Hadoken, I was going to add a Chocobo to my inventory but thought it was unneccesarry clutter. Redundant, y'know. I would like to retain the Chocobo summon for the, potential, humor factor. Additionally it acts as a reflection of Malcolm's personality, to not have a destructive summon as his guardian. I would like to work it out that She (The Summon) is a healing summon. Kinda like the Mog summon in FFT. Otherwise, a Mog summon with a big 'Hammer of Healing!' (A big, red rubber mallet that heals things when it bops things and makes a sqeaking sound) would be just as swell. And don't everyone start to thinking IHMN is a great big jerk. Deep down inside, he has a soft spot. I think it's his pancreas, or possibly his liver ... |
Okay, just as long as your transportation isnt your summon.
|
Not at all.
His Chocobo Mount, Shard, is a living breathing female Yellow. His summon is yet undiscovered, of course, and yet unnamed, of course. |
Quote:
And part of his motivation is that he acts in accordance to the dictates of fate... IE the ST can basically PM him to do pretty much anything he wants. I'll wait a bit longer and see what other flames can be generated. And IHMN's soft spot? Well, pretty much everything is soft in front of a rail gun slug... |
I think I am goint to need an opinion on this one. Should I have a mount yes or no? I am kind of torn between the two...
|
Well...I still dunno...why not be a Paladin if all your gunna do is supportive magic...or are ya really stuck on that pic and the whole Fate thing...
Quote:
|
Isn't Reflect, Shell, etc white magic?
And what about stopping time? That's very god moddy, and the basic skill of a time mage. And sounds like your saying he is the avatar of fate itself... That can't be good. |
He means you can PM him to do whatever. You dictate fate, thus you dictate him... took me a little while to realize ST = Story Teller (I think), as well... which would, of course, be equivalent of DM or GM...
|
All of us have to listen to ST/GM though...
|
Thank God I am a mimic...Oh wait that won't help much. Crap. I think I'll go sans mount...
|
Oh...well then thats gunna mess up two important NPCs in the story...I'd say just go with a White Mage if you wanna do the supportive magic, a Paladin if you want that and fighting ability, or sumthin else.
|
Spirit, are you thinking your guy can just shift into anyone and start doing their moves? For one, I'm pretty sure anything a shifter shifts into is weaker then the original (That's how it works in almost all morphing things), and I forgot what two was...
|
What? are you reffering to Dante or me? About screwing up NPC's that is...
No I know what my guy does and he is not a shifter... |
I doubt he would turn to a white mage or a paladin... And not much else fits the character image he has, so I dunno... Perhaps a Ninja is all I could think up to fit the avatar and be in the RP...
EDIT: Spirit, there is a 99% cahnce he meant Dante. |
I was referring to Dante, I woulda told you long ago...and there are lots of pictures on the net...
|
Yeah, but Dante seems to like playing Elder characters from the Warhammer 40K universe, since both Yngwie (His FF Char) and this char are variables on characters from that species.
|
I thought you were a shifter...
And how exactly is mimic going to work? He just sees some one doing something, then he can do it that one time? |
Hmm...maybe itd be better if you just went with a plain on shifter on this one Spirit, Mimic just don't wanna work in RP form (EX: IHMN uses fire breath, then you use fire breath? nu-uh...)

Oracle? Explain it quick, I gotta go to bed, its 1:45 here and theres nothing to watch on TV...
|
Oracle to sum it p quick is like an invereted white mage. Instead of curing freinds he dishes out ailments on opponets...
|
Hmm, it's 1:44 here, hah!
And oracle... it's like status magic, but all the bad status I think. It's similar to Yin-Yang magic, and it's an FFT class if I remember everything correctly. |
Uhmm...I dunno...I'll let the group decide, I gotta sleep.
|
I don't see a problem with it, but be advised it may turn into IHMN's char from the FFX RP, who had status abilities but never really got to use them...
|
An Oracle can do some good things. But my only want is one custom stati that is it.
|
Quote:
Anyway... I don't care what class he picks so long as it's not over powered... and oracles aren't. |
Okay, see my explenation in the 'Pronounciation of FF terms' thread as to why it came out that way... But at least I had the general info right, just not the specific info... Hah, even half-asleep I know my FF stuff!
|
Alright that is two... cool oh for my custom status I just want it to be something that well isn't really a worry nothing too cataclysmic...
|
Anyway... Darilk probably won't like this character either, being cowardly and weakening opponents instead of fighting... but he's not an amicable person, so how he feels doesn't matter.
And FZ, yes... I read that... but it's still fun to point out little things like that. |
So does that mean I get it??? If not I will revert back to shifter. I just want to do the Oracle thing and have my one custom statis (that is not that bad but still nontheless a surprise.)
|
Before I go to sleep I will give you a vote of yes.
So now go edit into your bio. |
Thank you very much IHMN. I'll do that...
|
Well, apparently the masses have spoken... so now I shall use a paladin.
Name: Lucien Soulban Age: For me to know, for you to find out. Race: Half-demon (Shock! Horror!) Blood type: Demonic equivalent of O+ Class: Paladin Weapon and Equipment: Suit of rune armor, the sword Sol Invictus and a nearly endless supply of throwing knives. He also carries a small amulet with him, though its purpose is unknown. When not girded for battle, his helmet is safely hidden in an extradimensional pocket, and he wears a long, concealing grey shroud over his armor and vestments. Appearance: See the Eldar warlock picture. Precisely the same thing applies. Outside of the armor, however, he has dark skin and stark white hair, as well as crimson eyes. His fingernails are black talons, but he wears gloves over them. Summon: I'll think about it. Bio: Coming soon... Quote: "I did not ask to be who I am... but then again no one does, do they?" |
Pah, be a paladin. Then we can hate each other... 'cause my character had bad experiences with paladins... and a paladin would naturally dislike him for being the opposite of one of them. Plus, you get a sword.
|
Done.
|
Man. I leave early for a night and I miss everything.... Hmm... Uh. Is my blind ninja person taken yet?
Or should I be something else. I can't really think of anything... |
Blnd ninja isn't taken yet, I think... or you can be krylo's white mage sister...
|
I'd like to be the white mage sister, (I'd already have a bio basically written for me. ^^ heheh) but:
1. Is there already a white mage? 2. I want Krylo's permission first, in case he had some ideas about it ( or maybe he's planning for Ren to be his sister) If not, I'll just be my blind ninja... ^^;; It's kinda weird to RP as a blind character. |
Then why not just RP as a ninja that can see? I'm missing something in your desire to be a blind ninja...
Oh, and my char is up. Name: Dezil Terron Age: 28 Race: Human Blood type: 0- Class: Engineer Weapon and Equipment: Has an odd backpack, that along with carrying a variety of tools, gadgets, and mostly non=functioning pieces of machinery, also has a large metal arm sticking off to the side. In a combat situation, the arm snaps down and he can stick his own arm in it, wielding the massive arm and it's increased power against his foes. Appearance: He is 6 foot 1, and has thick, curley red beard, with hair of the same. His friendly brown eyes and calm disposition might make some think he is a passive sort, but on the field of battle it is another story. He has a rough attitude towards others, and can get too involved in his work sometimes, but is a good person once you get past his rough exterior. Summon: Golem: Dezil presses a button and a massive nine foot tall humanoid machine flies from the sky and lands on the battlefield. When the robot is at close range, it uses massive fists that turn into spike maces to smash nearby foes. When it is at long range, or against more powerful foes, it upons up it's chest cavity first, shooting waves of missiles that blast the foes. Then it's hands turn to gatling guns to increase the damage, demolishing survivors by sheer quantity of fire. Finally, after the gatling guns, one last weapon comes out of it's back and onto it's shoulder, and it focuses power into the tube until it fires a weapon with the power of a compressed Ultima, clearing the battlefield. Bio: (Umm, I'll think of something...) Quote: I have yet to encounter a problem that can't be solved by blowing it up... |

Well, in that case, you could:
1. Play a race that while not the best ninja, could still be good ninja. or. 2. I don't know if it would be that hard. You have that 'Daredevil Sense' ability, so while you can't make out details, you know the generalities, where people are speaking from, general locations and body outlines. You would just be playing a normal character, you would just literally have to force yourself to be less descriptive when describing things, like no colors for one, and you probably lose finer facial detail like blinking in shock, or narrowing eyes in anger, or a short, cocky grin. And as for all of them being cold-hearted and angsty... Well, the race is probably leaning towards that, and adding ninja, a typically cold-hearted group, only adds to it, thus if you wanted a happier ninja, I refer you back to point 1... |

How exactly would a half-demon be trained as a paladin? Demons are probably the things paladins are trained to kill, and paladins are the uptight, holy rules people. I don't see them bending the rules to let a half-demon become a paladin...
Edit - And BM wants the WM to be a NPC for story reasons. Edit 2 - Oh, and Lazy is a blind ninja. |
Yeah, Paladins and Demon (even 'good' hearted Half ones) are like oil and fire. Put em together and all you get is explosions and probably death. And a mess from the left over oil.
I guess CJ could be the WM...it would just involve her to be in on the story...but I guess I couldkeep her semi-in-the dark...its up to her. On a side note, who hasn't posted 'oldtimer' wise? I understand Raiden is still MIA, but who else hasn't posted in here that would be a good addition? |
Alright I have my custom statis but its from DnD I just want to know is 'Slimey Death' acceptable as a custom statis, if not I will take it out...
|
Well, I guess...as long as you don't abuse it...
|
I was only going to use it once a day at max. Don't worry I try not to abuse things after seeing something getting abused big time once myself lets just say it involved a spellbook a sword and a rod of fire...
|
Celes, you can be a ninja if you want. Kind of because I'll be using a bow, but other than that, I just don't really care.
|
A blind archer... That is very reassuring.
|
Meh, it'll work out somehow.

Name: Samvela of Cemacey.
Age: 17 years old. Race: Avion Blood type: A- Class: Dragoon Weapon and Equipment: Cemacey-halberd, sword named Meramuse, 2x Mythril bracer, 2x Mythril kneeguards, leather armour. Appearance: Samvela is quite muscular, being 17 years old. He has long hair and clear-blue eyes. He is quite the handsome young man. (I have also included a handdrawn picture of Samvela.) As all the Avian(I believe this is the plural form of Avion.) Samvela has talons for feet, and wings. However, due to royal blood, his wings are of silver-coloured feathers. Summon: Dragoons of Cemacey. All the ancestors of the Cemacey-family decend from the skies to attack the enemy and protect the summoning Dragoon. (Yes, I know Samvela can't summon for himself, but this sounds better.) Bio: Samvela descends from a family of royalty and city-keepers(does this word exist?). All of the Cemaceys before him were Dragoons, therefore Samvela is one too, to keep the tradition going. His parents died because of a rare decease. Due to this, Samvela finds himself stuck with the key to the city when he is only 12. At the age of 13, Samvela joins the Dragoon-training with the halberd given to him by his father on his deathbed. Samvela excells at Dragoon-skills and passes the training after 3 years, with flying colours. Now he wishes nothing more than to discover the world outside of Aviona. Before leaving town, he crafts a sword (also shown on picture) which he names Meramuse after his late mother, whom he loved very much. Now he finds himself in a world different of his. Samvela beliefs very strongly in the legends of the Demons. Quote: No matter what, I will never ashame you, ancestors of mine! (Pretty lame, huh?) |
Two dragoons eh...
|
Two dragoons is probably a lot more common then two half-demons...
|
Half-demons are a race though...
|
Well, I guess I'll join. I can't resist an FF RP. Hope I'm not too late...I always seem to be like that.
Name: Ripel Regalo Age: 20 Race: Human Blood type: O+ Class: Mediator (Since Red Mage was out of the question, and Blue Mage was already taken) Starting Weapon and Equipment: Crossbow (Since guns aren't allowed), Alchemist Belt (Holds a few potions), Shortsword, Quiver Appearance: 5'8" and dressed in the Mediator Outfit from FFT. Summon: Yojimbo. What better summon for a merchant? Bio: As the son of a powerful noble Ripel was expected to become either a knight, a mage, or a clergyman. He could find himself to be none of these, knowing full well that he had not the brute strength nor the magical power to be the former two, and as a priest he was simply not suited to become. Indeed, he felt that his true strength were in his talking skills, which contained a special magic (you know, what makes mediator skills work in real combat), but unfortunately not one deemed worthy enough to deserve praise. His strict father, enraged taht his son could not meet his expectations, threw Truce out of the house and disowned him. Though it didn't come as a surprise to the boy, he, at the time, was only twelve and had nowhere place to go. Eventually, he found himself come across item shop, where he managed to get himself a job. He stayed working at the place, saving money as time went by. Then, roughly a year ago, he quit his job there and became a travelling merchant. Acquiring a crossbow for protection and a chocobo to help carry the goods, he set off and began his journey. Quote: "Look over there!" Common escape tactic when people think he ripped them off. Which he doesn't, honest. Edit 1-No Guns, wasn't sure because there had been an engineer. Edit 2-I still love any kind of Blue Magic Edit 3-Two Dragoons would probably be more likely than two half demons, unless Demons happen to be really horny. Sides, I've always wondered what a battle between two dragoons would be like, a lot of jumping and missing I would guess. |
So are moogles, but no one sees them... I figured you only put half-demons under races because that was the most sensible place and not because they are many of them...
Edit - Ecurt, it's a different kind of blue magic anyway, not the traditional kind... Edit 2 -And no guns. |

hey, what's wrong with my sign-up? If anything's wrong, tell me, and I'll fix it.
|
Well, you could always take this to decide your class...
http://www.insomniel.com/quizzes/ffclassesquiz.html |
Half-Demon fighter/blue mage
Blind assassin (With a bow...) Dark Paladin Human engineer guy Black mage Yin-yang magic guy (Darkness, poison, etc magic) Two dragoons At the moment a Paladin, though that may change if half-demon is desired to much. Merchant talking guy Chocobo Knight |
Seriously, a blind assasin with a bow. Does anyone but IHMN and I see a problem there?
|
IHMN: But for the two Half-Demons, its like walking down a NYC street and seeing, say, two albinos (ones a businessman, ones a skater), then walking further and seeing two albinos both carrying guns (for the Dragoons). Plus, I'm hoping that Dante changes his race, or picks a better suited job for a Half-Demon.
Ecurt: I only played FFT:A, whatsa Mediator? Celes: I'd make a list, but I'm too lazy. |
You never played FFT?! A travesty, good sir, far superior to FFTA most likely. However, here are two direct quotes on Mediators from an FF website.
"Mediators are an interesting class, choosing to fight the enemy with words. When words fail (as they often do) they can equip the all-powerful guns. They have good HP but are not nearly as good of a magic user as their predecessor classes." "Invitation is a key ability here, and is really cheap. It allows you to charm an enemy into your party, and is key in the poaching process or to get good equipment. Mimic Daravon is also a great ability, putting a group of enemies to sleep. The rest of their action abilities are quite worthless, unless you want to raise permanent brave and faith levels with Praise and Preach. Equip Gun is expensive but useful for weaker classes, especially if you can acquire the spell guns late in the game." |
Did not understand that analogy at all..
|
Well, your not gunna be able to coerce the Demons we fight, but you can have a crossbow, and if we ever fight some real people you could distract those...or get us bargains on stuff.
And I got a Black Mage for that little quiz thingy. |
Dammit. I took the test and I got ninja... ^^;; Guess I'd better retake it... or just be a normal ninja who can see.
(hey, on a completely unrelated note, old RPers, guess who I'm talking to: J-Man! Should I try and convince him to rejoin the RPing group? ^^;) |
Mediator: Guy who shoots gun, and talks to do various things.
Examples of what Talk can do: Delay Enemy Action, Make Enemy Go To Sleep (I love Mimic Daravon!), Lower Brave, Lower Faith (Which affects Magic Effectiveness with or against them), Raise Brave, Raise Faith, Increase Speed, Make Enemy give Gil to you. Edit 1-Do both half demons happen to be dragoons? I missed that. Heh. |
Mediators are baisically like bards only they don't sing and use guns later down the road.
