Radiance Ch1: Talon 5 Conference
-Narusie, formerly the heart of the United principalities of the Orion quadrant (UPOQ), a group formed out of the old alliance between the United States, The U.K., and their allies. Presently the seat of the newly formed Kharat Space Federation (KSF), consisting of all the human groups (save a few rogues) and the alien race known as the Taleri. Rather Than A single sprawling metropolis, The 8 chief landmasses each have a principal city, each around 3 times the size of old LA, save that on the largest, most temperate landmass called Eugea.
-The city itself stretches 3 miles into the sky, and at its widest point is approximately 200 miles wide, its starlike shape got it the whimsical name of New Astrea. Race distribution is approximately 42% Taleri, 51% Human, and 7% Saleri. -It is here that the Federation principals meet in the cavernous council chamber to discuss matters of all importance to the citizens. The council consists of 100 representative from each race (Saleri must at this point choose which to represent), who are selected by the citizens of their respective sectors. These councilors in turn vote for a Chancellor from their own ranks, to facilitate debate and maintain order. Where do you folks come in? NOW! ---The small crowd of elite fighters, sneakers, killers, pilots, shooters, and thinkers, stood talking with the slightest air of nervous tension. They had gathered in a large conference center of the central council building in New Astrea. This was big news, who was selected from this crowd would be heroes and heroines of the Federation. They would be leading the charge against the most malignant enemy in the history of all life, and would be taking the lives of almost 20 billion partially into their hands. This is the importance of their missions. All talk in the cool, grey carpeted chamber died down immediately as a tall Teleri woman seemingly glided up to the podium in the center of the crowd. Her elegant, royal blue councilor's robes settling as she spoke. The Joint Heads of Defense have reached their decision. Will the following named persons please enter the door to my left.. She points an open hand, palm up, in the direction of the wall, which promptly opens to reveal a small waiting area with two armed security guards. She begins calling out names Kyle Krennel, Ashan S'Jet, Michael Owens, Brendt N'marhi, Kelic Juhryn, Carl, Christine Jeras'in, Tau, Bruno Banglesh, and William Holliday. Thank you. ooc: Quick note to Biran, you exist as two Teleri when not fighting. House rules. |
Bill Holliday ran his hand through his lanky brown hair. He wasnt quite sure why he was here. A KSF agent had managed to track him down to a bar on Ganner V. There, the man had told him about "...a mission of the upmost important. A matter on which rests the fate of the Kharat Space Federation." That hadnt interested Holliday as much as what the man told him about the Gurz. Whatever they were called, Bill had unfinished buisness with them. A score that had been left unsettled for far too long.
"Hell, its not like I had a choice anyway.", he thought to himself. He knew better than to think that when the agent had urged him to head to Narusie, he had any option but to comply. He shrugged and walked towards the doorway. |
OOC: Ugh... For one, there was a sign up. And two, why did you think you could just jump in when names were called and you were not one of them?
IC: Kelic stood away from the group, not knowing exactly why he was here. He had always worked alone in stealth. Groups tended to slow him down. He figured something big must be going on. When he heard his name called, he made his way towards the door. |
ooc: IHMN, it's cool, he signed up. His name's there, too... "Bill" is short "for William". When everyone shows up who's with us, I'll move on with the story.
|
Mike walked into the indicated door, not really caring what anyone had to say. He knew he would have been picked anyway because of his skills as a lancer. He stood there and waited while everyone else who was called entered the room.
|
He looked up as his name was called and strode toward the door his armor glinting softly. He was honored to be called out of this group of fine soldiers.
|
A scrawny but tall guy walked into the room, his clothes ripped and face dirty.
-I'm in... where do I get payed for this shit. |
Ashan strode into the room and glanced at the people he would be working with. In his opinion it wasn't a bad group. A few Teleri, a couple of humans and the od Seleri. The young charon felt optimistic.
|
The old Saleri Brednt walked up and over to the door. He was probably the oldest guy here but one of the best damn fighters there ever was. He was known quite well for his ventures against the Gurz. Stories were created about him which made him quite popular with the marines. He stepped in and looked at all of the faces and smirked a bit. Man I'm old compared to all of these damn kids he thought to himself.
|
Christine strides up, wearing the standard Federation uniform, White slacks and a white collared blouse, all fitting the form of the still young (relatively speaking) Saleri commando. The medals gleaming on her chest, her cover (hat) in her right hand, a pistol at her hip.
Oh, come on now, I'm almost over 40. She chides, a door opening on the other side of the waiting room as the one they had entered closes. |
