"Silent Hill: Origins," or "Alessa Looks Pissed As Hell"

Here's the official trailer.

Here's the trailer that has Alessa in it.

Imma hooge SH fan, and have been almost immediately after I got my first SH game, SH3. I love the mythology of the game, the atmosphere the story and everything in between. So you can bet Imma pick this up as well as a few of these games ASAP.

Seil, you just shot up a few points in cool factor book.

I <3 Silent hill too, and even though I don't own a PSP, I wait for Silent Hill 5 with bated breath.

The world needs more scary games.

Then you'll like this clip. The neat thing is, in the end, you can see something moving in the light of the TV. Silent Hill V looks very neat.

I really wish I had a PSP so I could play this.

I love the Silent Hill games, especially 2.

See it's things like this that make me waver on getting a PSP. Silent Hill is just...so involving. There's really no other game series like it. It plays less on "ohshitthere'sazombiehordecomingforme" and more on "Did that shadow move? Where the hell did that blood come from? Is this really happening or am I just losing my mind?"
That first shot that was posted though...made me flashback to the film, right towards the end. Those that ahve seen it will know what I mean.
On a related note - The Janitor from the film really impressed the guys at Konami when they came to view the production and asked if they could use him in a future SH game. Don't think he's in Origins though.

I had made a thread earlier about this game when it first came out but I guess nobody had gotten the game yet. I finished Origins a few weeks ago and I have to say it's right up there with Silent Hill 2 as being one of my favorites of the series. Imagine Silent Hill 2's character development and history with the characters from Silent Hill 1 and also taking place 8 years prior to the first game.

Also has anyone seen (spoilers) the Butcher yet? I found him to be almost as terrifying as Pyramid Head himself but they don't say too much about him (the Butcher) in this one.

SH5 should go to the 360.

I've just bought this game and so far I've not been dissapointed. The game starts with Travis, the protagonist, seeing the Gillespie house burn. You run in, grab Alessa, run out. Then you pass out from exhaustion - upon waking up, you decide to go to the hospital to see how Alessa is doing. You meet Kaufman and Lisa there, and Dhalia in the Sanitarium.

It's a really neat game, but it took me a bit to figure out some things. I was also afraid that the graphics would be bad, or that it would run slowly, but it looks and runs very nicely. The first puzzle is very Silent Hill-like (finding the pieces of one of those science class anatomy dummies and putting the heart, lungs, intestine and things back inside so you can get the dolls eyes, then going to the other world and finding a previously living person cut open and their eyes removed.)

One new thing, though, is that instead of the game changing worlds, Travis controls this via mirrors, which is weird, but an interesting concept. Whenever you see a mirror, the reflection is always you in the exact same room, but in the other world - and the first time you do it, Alessa is there. I think that she's trying to help you, or at the very least, get you out of Silent Hill.

All I have to know is if there is a UFO ending.

If there is then this game gets an automatic 10/10.
