Call of Cthulhu: Sign-Up
4 Attachment(s)
The world is not the safe place you think it is... Behind any door, or in any house, there could be followers of the enemies... The beasts of the Mythos, the Great Old Ones or the Outer Gods, or their servents are everywhere, seeking to grow stronger, to hunt, to kill, to end humanity forever...
Welcome to the world of Call of Cthulhu. In this world, all is not as it appears. There is a world that stays hidden from ours for the most part, and revels in it's secrecy. It must stay hidden to survive, so that it may grow stronger. It is the world of the Mythos, of the servents of the evil gods. They are cultists, or creators of churches perverted to the will of the Great Old Ones. They seek to make themselves powerful by sacrificng and serving these gods. Almost all go mad from their servitude to these beings of eternal hate, but they learn their dark secrets in the process. They learn the powers of magic, how to revive the dead, how to summon beings that should not exist and bind their service, how to posses the living to do their every whim, how to kill with words and motions. These dark gifts corrupt any that learn them, but the desire for power is strong, and while the population at large is totally oblivious to this dark world, there are some that are forced into it by accident, or purpose, and instead of submitting, choose to oppose it. You will start off as a bunch of average people, with no knowledge of the horrid events around you, in the year 1928. Professors, Doctors, Drifters, Clergymen, you will be average, everyday professions. One day however, your life changes forever when a mutual friend of all of you asks you to his deathbed, and says it is a matter of grave importance... All of the Sign-Up info is in the four packets attached to this thread. |

Hmm, Good Sign-up Demon. It looks like you'll be noticing a lot of fine detail with your high Idea roll... However, not having a combat skill means you'll also be running whenever we do have to face a Cthulhu esque beast or cultists.
|
Just one question... is there any max to put into the skills, or any minimum?
|
Hmm, yeah, I thought it was in there near the point total. All skills have a max of 18, except EDU which has a max of 21, and all skills have a minimum of 3.
*Cough* I don't want to scare everyone away with a massive sign-up... If there are any people that are interested but aren't sure about the sign-up, offer alternatives and I'll consider them... |
No no... skills, not stats. I have my stats figured out already. But like the occupational skills and what have you... I have 240 occupational and 170 personal (yes, I'm the uneducated genius)... is there a min/max of how many of those points I can put into each skill.
Hm... Also what's natural history, exactly... something tells me I should know that, but I don't. |
Call of Cthulu isn't a combat oriented game like AD&D. It's story driven. I have a better chance of survival against the horros of the Cthulu by not having combat skills. If I had them I might be compeled to use them, and that would lead to an early grave.
Well, in so much that my experience with Call of Cthulu is up to date that is. I have the second edition (from way back in 1983) beside me, and they might have changed stuff. However, I remain the 'cowardly' character that runs and lives another day. |
I'll run the combat wombat, if need be. Changing signup now.
EDIT: Demon, is it okay if I run my guy as a manservant of yours, or something? |
