Well, I don't plan on leaving unless something cataclysmic happens and I can't GM anymore, but chances are high a few will drop out soon after the RP starts. That just makes it easeier in the long run.

Of course, if they leave/die I call dibs on their stuff.

Anyway, is it possible to beat Call of Cthulhu? I'm pretty sure this will end by either our characters retiring or they die a horrible, horrible death. For me, I'm hoping it'll be the former.

About as possible as it is to beat DnD.

Seriously though... maybe if we like summoned every elder god, and then one of the other gods at a time... let the elder gods gang rape each great old one, while adding support fire... got an army behind it. Hmm...

I believe the best possible ending is to retire. Other options are Permenant Insanity (Which happens if you run out of Sanity Points), or being killed in a horrible, horrible way (Happens if you run out of Hit Points, and/or are messily devoured by an angry Great Old One...).

Was I forgotten or something? If I was, don't feel bad, it happens all the time in real life.

And actually, the gods are pretty much unkillable. They have HP, but:

A. They have insanely hard to pierce defenses. I think nothing short of a tank can kill some of the mightiest ones, and most are immune to mundane weapons like guns.

B. Even if they are 'Killed', they are actually only temporarily banished. So if we say, by some miracle, killed Cthulhu (Strongest of the Great Old Ones, but not even the strongest of the Mythos gods...), we would just banish him again until some new cult formed to make him rise again...

But... you said the Elder gods were nice to humans, basically... so if, say, Cthulhu was released... couldn't humans summon all the Elder Gods to fight Cthulu, while providing back up fire... which would only really serve to distract him, and thus allow his 'death' (read banishment) again. Or maybe we could make magical tank bullets! Ooohh... magic tanks... but I don't think there were really tanks in the 1920s... or were the first tanks in WWI... I think they were in WWII though. Well, whatever, too lazy to look it up right now.

Not saying it would happen, because I'm pretty sure we'd go insane in the process of summoning one god, much less a bunch. Really, I guess I'm just bored and feel like discussing things that will never happen in purely theoretical terms.

I'm just confused about the stats. I've pretty much got the rest planned out.
