The kid was 17 years old, so it's not like he's got the whole "My parents didn't raise me well" argument.

And honestly I'm not trying to open up a Video Game/Violence topic. I just wanted to bring this up 'cause I thought it was funny, and let's be honest, I thought of Flarecobra when I read it anyway, but then I saw that it was "he" and "Chinese" and I was like, "Aw, man. Damn it."

So.. that's like, what? The 10th bizarre case (That made news) of people getting injuried/killed over MMORPG's in China/Japan/Asia ?!

I hope the victim dropped some good loot.

...At least this shit is happening in Asia, where it will be largely overlooked by the majority of finger-pointing playahaters.

That's all I can really say, other than what a fucking bizarre thing to happen. I mean, China has had its fair share of burnt people, but never (or at least, probably never) for so crazy a reason.

...If you ask me, eight years in prison was actually a pretty light sentence. Kid oughtta do the eight years in prison, then do some time in a mental ward (to ensure he's all right all up in his brain), and then have one of those sentences where you can never come within 25 feet of a computer.

...Which I believe translates to "exile" in Chinese, but whatever.

I've thought about it and I'm just going to pretend he didn't use gasoline and this is a case of mind over matter or the start of the xmen.

If you look at this from the Nerdy point of View, you would see that he Thinks that a Fire Mage uses Mundane means to Create fire... wich makes no sense for a WoW player to think.

So what we have here is a VERY stupid person, or a Smart guy trying to get a lesser conviction under the "Vidjamages made me Crazeh!" law
