Hell boy 2: Hell yeah, or Hell no.

So I saw the trailer for Hellboy II: The Golden Army

While the plot looks like it could go either way, I'm just ecstatic to see Ron Perlman on camera again.

Call me Crazy, but I have loved him in every role he's played.

Any thoughts on the movie from y'all?

It looks pretty good. Did the little texty thing at the beginning say it's directed by the guy that did Pan's Labyrinth? If that is in fact what I read I'd be ready to wager on this being one of the more interesting movies this year. And yeah, I always like seeing Ron. Ron and that guy that played Juggernaut in Xmen 3 (not that he's in this movie, I just like seeing him).

That's true. Guillermo del Toro also directed the first Hellboy, so you shouldn't be worried about quality.

but... wasnt the first Hellboy movie an "underground" hit like The Punisher?

(in the sense that many people enjoy it, but it didnt get the media coverage that would be equivalent to that )

I just want to know if we are gonna see more Cthulhu in this one. I just hope that referance in the first one was on purpose, because it was waaaaay too close to be an accident

That's because the media is stupid.

El laberinto del fauno also grossed what in the U.S., $50 million? Goes to show you that the public doesn't know what's worth watching because, oh my god, it has subtitles and it's foreign.

Looks good. I'm not too keen on the music choices for the trailer, but hopefully that'll be fixed for the film. And is that spear the same one that was in the Hellboy 1 (the one that pierced the side of Christ, begins with an L)?

All I have to say is at the end of Hellboy they had a demon who looked liked a few of the images I've seen of either Yog-soggoth or Nyarlathotep ( I forget) and he was killed by a grenade. Ridiculous.
I'm not going to see it, the first hellboy didn't do much for me. Just seemed too much of a mish-mash of different influences and sources without any coherence.

You mean the Longinus, AKA, the Spear of Destiny? Most likely.

I quite liked the 1st film, even though I knew nothing of the characters or the story, so I'm hoping this one will be good as well. And so far it looks promising.

But is it just me, or do those guys with the white hair look exactly like the Wraith from Stargate: Atlantis?

Oooh, I spotted Johann Kraus. Not that I really follow the BPRD comics all that much.
