Man kills, cooks girlfriend.

Man kills, cooks, and maybe ate part of girlfriend

This really isn't Discussion-worthy, as I see this as more WTF!?ish. Anyway, this is just...well..I can't really put it into words. It's like a mixture of disgust, wonder, and curiousity.

Though that is a new twist on the phrase "Eating out your grilfriend."

Seil 01-07-2008 09:33 PM

I bet he ate her liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

Bob The Mercenary 01-07-2008 09:44 PM

So what was your last relationship like...?

Telephalsion 01-07-2008 09:51 PM

This reminds me of an old case, I think it was from germany, where a man, and his victim both cooked and ate the victims own genitalia together.

But it really seems deranged. Murder set aside of course. But cooking her? And telling the authorities?
Strange.

Kerensky287 01-07-2008 10:28 PM

So, he called the police to tell them he was cooking his girlfriend? What, was he going to invite them over for dinner?

...Cripes, some people are just messed the hell up.

Lady Cygnet 01-07-2008 11:16 PM

A successful insanity plea in Texas will keep him off of death row...but anyone using that defense without actually being insane probably never watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Insane or not, nothing that happens to him will ever bring her back.

It's not strange because the man is clearly mentally unstable. You forget that murderers don't necessarily think rationally. As to the incident itself, why didn't the mother call the police when she noticed something suspicious when her daughter left?

She was promised a drumstick.

It could be that he killed her for reasons not including insanity and then did the rest so he could stay out of prison. Who knows? It's a morally repugnant, unethical, disgusting ploy, but it could technically work.

Long-Haired Narcissist 01-08-2008 03:27 AM

Maybe he wanted Soylent Green.

adamark 01-08-2008 11:13 AM

If he abducted her from her house, that shows planning and forethought, so this guy definitely made some poor choices. Given my extensive experience watching Law & Order, I am confident I could prosecute this case with one arm tied behind my back and get a conviction. Throw the book at him!

I'm kinda hoping the Texas Institute for Mental Health has progressed a little beyond that nightmarish stuff.

Yes, because Law & Order is an astoundingly accurate portrayal of reality.

In any case, it's quite evident that this one needs to fry. And by fry, I don't mean more parts of his now ex-girlfriend. I might be a bit outdated, but any man who could do this to a woman needs to be eliminated ASAP.

People like this are a blight on humanity, regardless of how good of a script it could make for Hollywood (ironically, ALSO a blight on humanity).

Raiden 01-13-2008 02:52 PM

Cannibals are crazy. I don't really know what can drive a person to kill and then EAT another person. I mean, I like meat more than is probably healthy...but I can walk to the store. And not kill a woman. It's...just easier.

But he was -lazy-! What, then, would you in all fairness, do?

Cook your girlfriend? Duh! When hunger pangs strike, they must satiated, laziness or not!

Telephalsion 01-13-2008 04:37 PM

There are after all, lot's of tastier varieties of meat.

Frostatine 01-13-2008 04:42 PM

Maybe he had a vore fetish and was mad at his ex for dumping him.

What else could have possibly happened?

Long-Haired Narcissist 01-13-2008 04:57 PM

In the man's own words: "I like my women like I like my coffee, ground up and in the freezer."

Of course he did, he was supposed to use the nearby horse rancher, then he could have made her into chili.

You're probably (i don't really know you, so i can't say) normal, though, while cannibals decidedly are not. I chose to study psychology at college partly to try and see WHY and HOW people do these things.

Long-Haired Narcissist 01-14-2008 01:42 PM

I find this hilarious.

Well eating her would certainly net the insanity plea by a jury. Sounds very logical.

katsielyonz 01-16-2008 01:59 PM

Cannibalism is incredibly rare, and the times that it actually shows up in a culture it's usually to honor the dead, not to disgrace them. It's also a sign of power over another. For example, there's a small subsect of people in india who believe that everyone should eat someone else once in their life. It's always of a past or deceased relative and only with their prior permission (if they say you can it's an honor thing).

It's hard to say why cannibalistic individuals show up in cultures that don't have a purpose for it, but there's a lot to suggest that it has to do with having power over the individual, or a fascination with the taboo.

It's been documented heavily that human flesh tastes horrible and is both incredibly toxic and bad for you. You don't want to eat it b/c your chances of dying from cancer alone increase horrendously. So the motive for these individuals is above and beyond just sordid fascination. Like I said before, has a lot to do with having power over an individual, and you can even see some of that with this case.
