3rd Todd 8-Bit RPG staff/help sign-ups.
Not because it'll happen right this second. Because it will happen eventually, and that the third might or might not become the 8-Bit Theatre RPG. Because we all know I'm going to be the creator of the official 8-Bit RPG, whether it's my third try, my fourth try, or my twenty-seventh try. It's bound to happen. I just need the right staff.
Speaking of staff, here's exactly what type of people I'd need: RGGS/other language programmers. Because RMXP is so convenient. It's my habit to have an engine for every game I make so I can be the one directly responsible for all the changes in the game, and not have to get a programmer to do everything. If there are programmers out there that want to help, they're helping make an engine, not the game itself. Also, I just want everyone to know that any programming language is parallel to RGSS. RGSS is extremely simple to learn if you have programming history. whoiam and awesomeThief vanished, so a new scripting team is in order. Music re-masterers/mixers You know, people that make old themes into new levels? Axl dissapeared for a month whenever I asked him to make themes. We need a new one or two. Spriters Because I'm incapable/really lazy of making sprites often. It's well-known I use FF3-looking sprites rather than basic FF1 sprites. Existing sprites are here. Humor Providers I'm not that funny. Seriously. We need the game to be as funny as possible in Original Mode. Original Mode is going to be most of the reason people play an 8-Bit RPG, besides the battling system. We need at least twelve people working at humor, and who are awesome at jokes. Because copying existing humor is freaking hard. Idearers Although I have a great capacity to come up with ideas, there has to be something I've missed. Input is dealthy needed in a project headed by a support-dependant person. This is where all the basic stuff gets planned out, and all the attacks and Original Mode quests come from. The idearers. Anyways. If you think you're very competant in any of those subjects, give me a headsup, either in this thread, or in PMs (I suggest the thread), so I know who to get when I have enough support. Like I said, I'm support-dependant. I'm only going to start it when I know I can get at least the first chapter done again. But it's still important to know who I can trust on when I do inevitably jump back on again. |
I can do idea-ering, and humor. I could attempt music, but dont expect top quality shit there.
|
I'm still available for doing art scenes when the time comes, if'n you want me.
I like to think I'm funny, too, but that may or may not be a lie. |
I could do spriting and I could have a go at humour and idearering.
I've got the remainder of the week off (apart from about 10 minutes on Thursday) until Monday, so I can definatly do something in that time if you want it done. After that it'll all depend on my workload at university. |
Now? You've got to be kidding me. I'll do the script first, because I understand programmers are few in packs, and this isn't a great place to pick up programmers (although, I don't actually know where/have the courage to find them and ask). I need the programmers to make the engine, which will take at least 2-3 months, according to whoiam's estimate before he disappeared. But that still doesn't excuse that this is a sad list of volunteers as of right now.
I'll see what I can do with the idearers and comedics. My best guess is to ask the same as last time, which is for the idearers and comedics to make their own script of the comic, from page one to page 9, the funniest and fulliest with additionaliest scenesiest they can make it, and then mail or PM me the script. There's one person that I'd actually like to see be a script-writer that isn't on this two-person list. I'll see who I can ask, myself, but I still need volunteers. and Cage, I didn't know you even had the courage to talk to me after ignoring everything I asked you to do. If you still have the time, I mean, I'd still like the faces, and those posters for the first chapter. Anyways, on with the volunteering.. There has to be more than three people willing to be a huge part of 8-Bit history.. |
you may find programmers on the forums of the site the program your using to build this comes from
|
If you need ideaers or comedicers I'm your man.
PM me the premise and I'll come up with something. |
I'm a decent composer. Been in choir for about 6 years, I'm in my second year of Music Theory. I'm not sure what use you'd have for me, but I'd be glad to help. I'm also a decent C++ programmer, and I'm pretty good with Java as well, should the need for those arise.
[EDIT] Sorry, forgot to mention, but I might not be available more than once or twice a week. [EDIT II] I haven't had much experience in creating Engines, but what kind of stuff are you looking for? Do you have a language preference? I'm assuming there would be simple stuff, map editors, etc... But what about an actual scripting language? Just wondering if I'm even capable of the stuff you need. |
I've done this twice before. You can find all the specifics in the old threads if you looked, but that'd take time.. Here, I typed this advertisement up. It describes all the features of the game that I'd planned since the second iteration. I only got to make one chapter, since, on RPGMaker 2003, it was really hard, but it did have most of those features. The screenshot on there is in the bright side of Giant's Forest you can only get to in Original Mode. If any of you want really detailed information, I'll PM it to you. Just ask.

If this is your project, you really should find links to your old threads or summarize instead of leaving it up to others.
