Type In The Name Of The Game And We'll Tell You What's Wrong With It

Sony's PS3 Compatibility Status

...Wait, what? I thought it was a problem on my end, but apparently in Psychonauts, the cinematics run at 90% of normal speed, and the characters stutter. In Amplitude, the character animations randomly drop out. There's not a lot of problems with most of my game library, but seriously Sony - first you're releasing better controllers so that the ones that I have will be obsolete, then you make me buy an adapter to transfer my memory card data, and my wireless signal won't pick up that well.

There's only so much that I can take! (>>)

Hey I really can't complain when I (eventually) get my 80GB PS3 because all the PS1 and PS2 games I have work perfectly fine except for 2 of them and they aren't very serious problems.

Seil 01-09-2008 09:46 PM

(>>) I paid for the 80GB one for the backwards compatibility. All of my games are listed below, some with problems, some without - but it's a bit disheartening. I mean, backwards compatibility means that all your games should run properly. (T_T)

Only game I cant run is Accent Core. Everyhting else is good though.

Bells 01-09-2008 10:01 PM

It really due to the Hardware changes, i mean, the 360 dosent really play all Xbox games 100% fine too... it's just that people hardly give a damn about Xbox 1 games...

But, really, untill home and Little big planet are released i really dont see Sony putting an effort on fixing this, that's probably why the chalk up the blame on someone else... the really bad news is that if you own a PS3 and want to buy some old PS2 games to play now and then, you HAVE to check this list or you may get screwed

Lord of Joshelplex 01-09-2008 11:29 PM

Really though, if you dont have a PS2, chances are you probably werent interested in PS2 games in the first place. I mean, you can get them for like under $100 these days. Hell, I kept my PS2 simply becasue the PS3 weighs about as much a a frozen turkey. Its like the original Xbox after a junkfood binge.

When I read this thread title I thought it was going to be a group activity and I was sorely disappointed.

Seil 01-10-2008 12:10 AM

You can still make your own thread about that, DFM. I'll be the first to type in "Mass Effect," though. (>>)

I thought it was going to be
A) Put in the name of our favourite games
B) Everyone else rags on it.

Stupid PS3.

I think it would've worked better if you put up some ground rules.

1. To participate you've got to rag on the game that came prior
2. You can only post 1 game at a time

Too many people didn't understand what you were trying to do, and thought stupidly, that the whole thread was you making fun of games. It didn't help when you didn't bother to correct anyone, and just seemed to do this.

Taking on 3 games at a time, well that was just the breaking point.

SWB
- And 80GB PS3 backwards compatibility is a work in progress. Which is why I'm glad to have my 60GB, which is totally BC.
