Childhood shit now ruined thread 2.0

Continued from before.

No Invader Zim here? For motherfucking shame.

That and Saturday Mornings being on more than one network. And not made of crap.

He's like a slightly less vitriolic fifthfiend.

Fifthfiend 01-10-2008 06:21 PM

Oh come on I'm way more vitriolic than this.

Hey and that was me describing a game I actually liked.

Stuff making sense. Seriously when you were a kid the world made sense.
As you grow up it no longer makes sense. Stupid non-commutative quantum equations.
Yeah this is more about growing up than stuff getting cancelled but it still sucks.

SCIENCE!

Thomas Dolby

...and all of the other people who made fun 80s music...

Speaking of being blinded by science, I miss shows like 3-2-1 Contact! (even with that horrid disco theme), Square One, Picture Pages, and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. There's lots of other stuff that I miss, but it's already been mentioned.

Anyway, there's nothing more depressing than to turn on the TV on a Saturday morning and see infomercials...except to turn on the TV and see modern cartoons. It's like studios aren't even trying anymore.

When did shows like Thundercats stop, and shows like Ed Edd and eddy begin?

Mirai Gen 01-10-2008 10:53 PM

Well Batman always plays on CN, and you don't get much better cartoons than that.

EDIT: Well you can I'm just saying it's not very common.

Forget Thundercats. We need more shows like Bucky O'Hare and Pirates of Dark Water. Like, with long-term plots, decent voice work, and animation that doesn't leave everyone purple until someone's head moved.

Adult Swim back in the day was great... Anyone remember when Sealab 2021 was one of the best shows on television?

Pirates of Dark Water.
HELL YES. I loved Pirates of Dark Water! I never got to see the final episodes, either: Cartoon Network stopped showing them. :(
