Dream thread
Dream thread is for dreams.
I'll start. I was playing a video game with my sister (I only saw the screen.) and we were going through a jungle-esque trail, sneaking. We were commenting on how you could feel the heat and humidity and how advanced the game was. We turned and went into this junkyard area. I had a revolver, which I was now taking out in case I had to use it. She found a cart with a donkey pulling it. We got on and it started going. I saw an enemy and shot him a few times. He did not die. The enemies were very remniscient of Resident Evil 4. I shot him more in the head, chest, etc, while my sister found some kind of spinning guitar thing with spikes on it and it attached to the cart. She finished him off with it, but it broke. (The guitar part probably stems from having watched FLCL yesterday...) I was low on ammo, and apparently when that happens the bullets are 'stamped'. They had the faces and characters of people from games and comics, including Luna from Dominic Deegan, who was angry. Apparently they were more powerful or something. The way it was, it felt like a very, very advanced video game with full motion control. I had to physically pull back the hammer of my revolver after every shot and put the bullets in one by one. At some point I was going along a trail and noticed a snake under me. (I don't think this part was a game.) I grabbed it and prepared to throw it but I could barely move or breathe. It bit me and I woke up. It was eight am, so I went back to sleep. Then I had a dream involving a jet ski. I don't recall the specifics. |
I've been having tons of dreams I remembered most of the day lately, I'm not entirely sure why. Most of them are good, and I think usually involve some sort of fantasy world, looking entirely different from our own. Not necessarily futuristic or medievil, just odd I guess. And this part is kind of a stretch, but I was think I'm usually trying to compelte some task? Heh. I guess I'll find out tonight, or at least some time in the next week. >.>

I had my most vivid dream ever last year.
I'm standing on a sand dune on a beach looking out over the shore. My brother and dad are playing catch near the water, my friends are lying on blankets, and my grandparents and other relatives are sitting at a seaside bar having drinks. I look up at the ocean itself and instead of waves gently crashing on the beach there is a massive wall of water the size of a small apartment building churning with foam, it almost looks like it's boiling. I suddenly feel a rumble as the wave slams onto the beach and covers absolutely everything in sight. By the time it reaches me it's only as high as my ankles. I watch the water wash over my feet and as it recedes I look back over the shore and everything that used to be there is now a vast field of grass, and I'm alone. |
I usually never remember my dreams when I wake up, but when I do, there very weird...
Well, it starts out with me being on my computer on a forum or whatever then the computer starts to talk and says "Hello." With me being silent and then says "How are you?" and I just say "Fine.". We then get into a conversation. (Don't remember much. Something about videogames and movies, not sure). Well, then it says "Good-bye." and blows up with me waking up. |
this one is a boring one but so are most of my dreams
I open my eyes to see that I'm in a Wooden chair in a Room with a single light over my head making every thing else black suddenly the light expands showing another me sitting in a chair facing me he was like me but different more like how i imagine my self in the middle of the day he says "sorry your currently out of dreams" and kicks me in the face the end |
My dream started with me and some of my friends in a mall. At some point I became separated from most of them by the press of people and ended up in some sort supermarket/box store combination with my old room mate Liz. She picked out a bouquet of yellow flowers with long green stalks.
I was hungry and wanted a sandwich with olives on it. While she was looking at some gift cards I jumped the deli counter and made myself a sandwich. The deli guys were lazy, but one of them was pretty good with a knife and sliced my olives for the sandwich, which was neat. Then he went back to cutting the skins off of green grapes. I forgot about the sandwich then and wandered off after Liz. We ended up meeting again and picking out a baggett. When I went to pay my card wouldn't work. The cashier called my bank and they said that I had exactly $420 in my account and that in order for it to work I just had to wish it so. So I did, but Liz was gone and I wasn't really hungry again. So I left the store. In my car was a note from Liz, it said that she missed me but she'd made a choice that she'd have to live with. This made me quite sad, so I got in my car and drove. Everything was very brilliant, the way it is in a calm after a storm. The sun was very warm and it was streaking down in rays between the maples that crowded over the road in a tunnel. As I was driving to my parent's house I came around a bend in the road where the river had flooded once before. It seemed as though it had again. I stopped my car and got out to look, when behind me I felt something evil. I turned and saw the river let loose behind me. "Oh well, there goes my car, I guess I'd better get out of here. I don't want to drown like the others." I closed my car and locked it, feeling the freedom and warmth of the road fade I began to climb the side of the mountain that had turned the flood back once before. Most of the climbing was done by dragging myself up on bent birch trees. When I was a short way up I heard them, wolves, or death. I didn't know which it was but they were after me for some reason. Behind them the flood washed my car (which was now a white and red suburban) away. I felt sadness as it bobbed away, but it renewed my determination not to be caught. My efforts redoubled and I made my way swiftly up the mountain, wolves in pursuit. Finally I spotted a cabin in the woods and made my way inside. In the cabin were an old couple, and on second glance a girl who looked very familiar, and her eyes held me. They were blue like a sapphire sea. I could feel something from them. The old couple had a small dog, a terrier, whom I liked immediately. In the midst of the old couple serving tea, death came in, "You have it. Give it to me, your strength can no longer last." At this point death made to take the terrier. The old man tried to shoot Death with his shotgun, but as you can imagine it didn't work. The old woman grabbed him and her eyes glowed red with the blood of a hungry wolf. "No!" said the old man, his love had been taken, he had been living with a demon that had been sapping his life all along for Death, and he succumbed. His whole manner became one of defeat and I felt sad. Death pulled open the terrier to look inside, and then threw it aside in disgust. What he'd been looking for hadn't been there, the old man had tricked him all along. The old man had always been so careful of the terrier, what else could it have been? Slowly he though, but I'd realized what he was after all along! It was the girl with the eyes I'd do anything to make smile. He snapped his hold onto us both as we tried to escape. "You will obey me, give it to me now..." Her eyes began to cloud as she entered a code into a laptop, followed by a command. It said, "I am yours do as you wish” Tears streaked down her cheeks as she looked down in fear, but it was a feint! She had not finished the command with a period; Death was too busy celebrating to notice. Her fingers moved slowly toward the keyboard again, "my love." was what she typed. I felt Death's hold slip from me as she finished her last stroke. That was when Death noticed and tried to take us again. Light burst out from both of us and blew him back. I held her in my arms and she whispered in my ear, "What is your wish? What shall I give?" I didn't have to think I knew it all along. I replied, "For us to never be sorry, for regretful things to not come between us." Then everything went blue. ~ At that point I was awakened by the phone ringing. Let me tell you, last night I may have slept 12 hours, but I am as tired as all get out. |
...Really?
That sounds more like a short story than a dream. |
Dreams like that are awesome, and they should be turned into videogames.

Welcome to my damnable head. I was having really freaky ones when I was still working third shift. Shit that I can't even describe, not because of breaking too many rules, but due to my inability to convey the utter desolation and horror of the dreams. The worst I've ever had were when I tried using Unisom to get some sleep during the day. I was fully aware that I was having horrible nightmares, but I couldn't wake up or escape, I will never take a sleeping aid ever again.

Including the last part with the snake, sometimes I have dreams where I can't move or breathe, or just barely can. When I wake up, I have trouble opening my eyes or moving, but then I'm fine when I do.
