Twins Get Married

Read the story here!

Ew.

How unfortunate that they didn't figure out that they were twins seperated at birth until AFTER they consumated!

But seriously, what are the odds?

I saw a Mad TV sketch like that once.

Lots of studies have shown that children adopted out are highly likely to end up in families similar status to that of thier birth parents and two twins will end up in very similar environments.
They also have similar genetics.
So combining these two factors you have two people, of the same age, with similar nature and nuture so it would be pretty likely they would be attracted to one another.
I mean they would still have to meet but most adoptions end up fairly local so they wouldn't be too far away. Still unfortunate though.

Wow...that must have been really awkward for them. :/

The sore part would be thinking about all the clues they missed.

Like the then quickly forgotten but now excruciating memories of conversations on dates:
"Hey so, when's your birthday? What, really? Me too! What year? No way! Me too!"
"Oh, you were adopted? What an amazing coincidence."

Edit: Worse yet, maybe they went out and watched star wars.

"Mom, I met this guy, and I really like him. We have so much in common!"

I wonder what they're going to do now...

Yeah, you'd think this sort of thing would would kinda come up before getting close to marriage.

If neither of them knew they had a long-lost twin it could potentially be like "Wow, this person has so much in common with me, it must be destiny" or something.

FlameTH 01-12-2008 08:33 PM

"It's like we're twins!"
