Possible Nuklear Wright ideas?

Alright, I'm playing Prosecution in the current Nuklear Wright game, and it's fun but I was thinking about it.

Really the case seems a bit one-sided. The cases seem like they are flat-out going-to-go-one-way-or-another-from-the-beginning, in fact. And, really, the cases don't feel "Wright."

So! Instead, I would like to offer an alternative:

One person (Being a writer I'd gladly volunteer for the first case; I've got a good couple of ideas) would be the "Wrighter" or "Gamemaster," whichever you prefer. The writer (Dammit I like "Wrighter") would set up an entire court case, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney style. No Psyche-Locks, no investigations, and no in-game conversations.

One or more persons (witnesses, the defendant, or even someone else) would be casted as the 'villain'. I would give him two stories - one story that would be 'his story,' then one that would be the 'truth'. Edgeworth and Phoenix will then work together/against each other to find out what it is.

To make it easier, the Wrighter could play as Dt. Gumshoe and explain the crime scene and present all the evidence. MSPaint style dioramas and evidence would also be presented by yours truly.

Really I think that with this kind of a case, with some cooperation, we could capture a nice little epic Phoenix Wright feel.

Anyone want to try this out?

EDIT: And in case it wasn't clear, the only people who know what truly happened are the writer, the villain(s), and possibly the GM. No, the Judge can't know, otherwise we wouldn't get the lovably classic surprised comments he makes.

I just want to know what the case is before it starts. It's helpful.

Oh quit whining I had to prove that Fifthfiend was not an ass. You think your case is one-sided.

Touche. To clarify; it seems like all three cases are really pretty clear-cut. The proceeds are just debating for a while, and while that's fun, I'd love to give it that epic Phoenix Wright feel.

To clarify: Everyone knows the basic idea of what happened. As Gumshoe, specifics will be detailed during the first moments of the trial.

No I mean seriously the case was probably skewed against me but really I picked POS over my original case which was DFM because DFM is too heavily skewed towards the prosecution whereas POS is at the worst slightly skewed towards the defense.

Really I did some research for this trial that I set up.

Just to be clear; I am so not complaining about my case. This is really just because I want to give it more of a Phoenix Wright epic feel.

Really.

I think we could go back to genuinely debateable things, such as Smash Bros. Discussions.

If the game continues it's current path (That is, the victorious Prosecution/Defense becomes the Judge in the next one) then I already had an idea concerning Smash Bros.

But that's just if I win so it's entirely up to Mirai losing for my idea to even see the light of day.

I'm aware of that, fyi. I was using it as an example of how you can win any trial if you do it right.

I swear to god, no. I mean every once in a while but every single one is dumb and monotonous and it might as well be called "Super Smash Bros. Meets the Courtroom Because That's All Courtrooms Debate is the Validity of Captain Falcon Fighting Falco in a One-On-One Deathmatch For the Title of Chief Dude Named After A Bird."

I guess whether Sheik has boy bits or girl bits (or both!) would be better.

By the way, I want to clarify that I wanted to name the game Power Wright: Nuklear Attorney. It just seems to roll smoother off the tongue.

POS Industries 01-13-2008 08:56 PM

Yeah, but "Power Attorney" sounds cooler.

Also, I actually had a conversation about this same sort of thing with Fenris last night, as I had wondered if there had been a case yet that the prosecution had won.

I think the way we recruit witnesses might not be the most effective means. In this case, for example, I can see Nikose doing a decent job of singing my praises but I haven't the foggiest idea what Intern Nin, Telephalsion, and Moogle would have to say about me as I've not interacted with any of them very much ever.

Prep time would be good, if nothing else. What we're basically doing is a mock trial deal anyway, and even the high school kids that do that stuff tend to have a decent amount of time to put their cases together, if I recall correctly.

Though I really am having fun being awesome in this game, of course.
