Another thing, don't know how serious you are, but we definatly are. Yes, we all love jokes and a funny joke in a topic is appreciated, but be careful. If it's not funny or serious enough, we'll probably not like you, you start yelling at us, we yell at you for flaming, and you look bad.

Still ironic to me that 8-bit people could be this serious.

Just also note: Yes you CAN say thank you to someone in a thread and not get banned for a while. As long as it isn't as simple as "okay, thanks."

We should start a thread in the general area that says "NEW POSTERS LOOK HERE" and the only thing it says is "Don't make a new topic saying 'I'm new, what do I do.' and say 'read these now.'" and link to the rules. More people go to general rather then Rules first.

You picked a poor choice for your first forum. As pleasant as this place is the community is rather more stratified than elsewhere. Breaking yourself in gently somewhere else to learn forum decorum would be preferable.

I disagree. I think this is the perfect place to "break in" just because of all the structure, instead of other boards' insanity. Just as long as you read the rules, your fine. Price for the best board on the interweb: a few minutes of reading.
