TF Animated: Me Grimlock no cameo, me King

So Blast from the Past, anyone?

Well, I must say, despite this being shown out of order, it was a welcome episode. Megatron, as always steals every scene he's in. The Dinobots creation, & introduction was carried out really well.

Heck, they even had a good reason behind Grimlock's name, something better than G1.

And maybe its just because they're young, but the Dinobots are indeed stupid. Grimlock seemed to be the only real intelligent one so far, as Swoop & Slag didn't manage to learn how to talk just yet. Kaye's version of Grimlock was decent at times, but sometimes (like when he said Cars & Trucks bad) it just didn't work all that well for me.

At any rate, I'm at least hopeful that they might be slightly above Season 1-2 Dinobots. If Grimlock devolves into Season 3/movie intelligence Grimlock, then I will personally set this series on fire & watch it burn.

Wish we got to see more of the Dinobots' robot modes, but even what we got to see was really sweet.

Yes, me like.

well I'm ok with them being stupid as they aren't true transformers. Unless they do some plot thing that involves them gaining a higher intellect I would be upset if they suddenly got smarter. Keeping them dumb also makes megatrons manipulation of them realistic

Speaking of Megatron, this is the first time I have seen one on par with that of Beast Wars as far as intellegence goes. Guy knows how to plan

I like how even though he's dumb as a rock, Grimlock knows he doesn't have to take orders from a giant broken head. And I think they will get smarter since there's an episode where Prime and Grimlock team up stop a mad scientist and Blackarachnia.

When Grimlock transformed and pulled out that Flame Sabre, I thought that was pretty badass.

Me Grimlock want better art team.

I saw an episode of this.
If I can bear the awful character designs, I might watch it again.

Grimlock's whole charm is fuck intelligence, he's the Goddamn Grimlock.

Also yes, the designs are heavy on the blah.

Sorry on the delay getting to this thread.

Well, I got half and half.

I didn't get totally awesome speech-impediment war-hero badass Grimlock ala War Within.

I did, however, get a Grimlock with gold/grey body and giant flame sabre, so that's not so bad.

I just hope they either pick a side or end up being decisively neutral in the Autobot/Megatron conflict. Either way, I'd be happy.

EDIT: Now that I think about it I did like the "Car Robots woooorse!" sort of throwback was pretty awesome.

Well the synopsis for episode 26 states that Grimlock & Optimus will be forced to work together. So its a pretty fair bet that, yeah the Dinobots will remain mostly neutral. My only big concern, is that they'll end up being woefully underused. The synopsis only mention the Dinobots by name in 3 episodes. Of course, considering that the synopsis tends to only mention the highlighted characters, that might not mean much.

I mean, based on name shout outs, Ratchet appears in only 1 episode. Previous appearances by him are figments of your imagination.

Oh, and if you're looking for the synopsis for the later episodes, look here. CN had all 26 up initially, but reduced the number to 13.

todays episode was, well if you really thought about it, it was pretty dark. I mean the guy basically captured people, cut off body parts, then stuck them on himself, or hung them on a wall

Mirai Gen 01-19-2008 07:49 PM

Well the Good Doctor isn't very bright - he thinks that machines are unfeeling and cold, which is the complete opposite of Sari.

I guess it's one of those character flaws that might get ironed out soon.
