Crysis on PS3?
The article
I dont know if this is true. Considering most PCs cant run it, can the PS3 handle it at all? |
It may be possible, but slightly unlikely. Though the Ps3 could run it, the 360 also could. It is a good question though. If the PS3 can run it, it'll show of a hell of a lot of it's power.

I'm going to put my money on "No, there is not going to be a console port."
Although Crytek might be looking to boost sales after the lackluster figures of Crysis, I can't imagine them being too eager to shove bamboo files under their finger nails and code the engine for the PS3. Especially since the end result isn't really going to be comparable to what most Crysis-Capable computers can do. Also, Quote:

Yea, the Killzone 2 comment is whats got me questioning the truthiness of this. It probably wont be hard to out do KZ2.
|
well this is just a guess, but Crysis probably didn't sell too well because few people own hardware that can handle it. If their goal is to boost sales, I dont think porting it to what is currently the lowest selling system would help much.
To be clear, not saying the game or the system are bad. Only that I dont think a PS3 port sales would make up for all the work needed to port it at all |
Didn't you hear? The other consoles simply can't muster the power to run Crysis! In fact the PS3 version will probably outshine its PC counterparts in graphical muscle thanks to the awesome power of BLAST PROCESSING.
|
I can understand porting to consoles, since the PC version sold like ass, cause most people dont have like, a quad core processor, and 1 TB of RAM and all the shit neccesary, but really, unless the PS3 is THAT much more powerful then the 360, I dont see why, unless there is gonna be a mandatory install, then I'd understand a bit.
|
And even then, if I recall correctly, Microsoft repealed the stipulation that 360 games couldn't install/load off the hard drive.
I really don't get all this jive about needing a hypothetical super computer from space to run it. You'd need one to max out all your shit but I can run it between medium and high with no hiccups and I've got problems running Supreme Commander and Oblivion. And Crysis still looks so fuggen pretty. |

and if you want to know who to blame for the "jive" probably this guy |
Nah, that sentiment's been around way before Yahtzee reviewed it. And if I recall correctly it's a dual core with two gigs of ram and a GeForce 8600 GTS. Pretty mid-range system.
