I'll also reserve a spot, but only if I can think up a nifty enough power. I was going to have teleportation, but Narc beat me to it. -_-

I'm also interested in this so I'll reserve a spot as well. I'll have something up by tomorrow afternoon.

first I want to remind everyone, point of this is NOT to play humans, but the gods that now control them. Dont even attempt it unless you are a great role player and understand your character wont only start insane, but his mind will degrade until said character cant even function and will become at best a NPC and at worse a mindless vegitable.

I will also remind you that the unique power comes from the human, not the god. The god merely awakens it. Might also want items that are weapons since attacks from them would be incredibly deadly.

see the memories are gone because it was the host that actually remembered it. To use an analogy, it would be like swapping out your computers harddrive. For the most part all your memory is gone. Only thing you retain is a strong emotional sense from previous lives. Say in one life you lived happily in a town for decades, then you and everyone else was killed and the town destroyed. If you went to the ruins you would feel nostalgia and sadness. But no idea why you feel like that or what the place was.

Since their memories are wiped each time, only the original cults that worshipped them and kept good records know much. Most gods dont know where they came from, or the rituals needed to transplant them into new items (which is why you should shy away from modern devices). This also means most gods dont know of others, thus no political system for them exists. You shouldn't get too hung up on your humans backstory, as its mainly just to say the kind of life he lived, the life you now assume. And incase you didn't guess already the god knows all that the human did.

On the alchemy thing. I'll allow it, but only traditional alchemy. It wont be like FMA where you draw a circle then suddenly a wall into an ornate door. You can however know the chemicals and ritual needed to convert lead to gold. So any transmutation would be a long drawn out process

Ok, I changed up my background some. Does the host need to eat or anything?

Emong 01-21-2008 06:49 PM

I was so temped to make a rock god when I was typing this. :)

Profile
Name: Ranthok
Personality: Ranthok has two mostly separate personalities. The first one, which I have dubbed Casual Ranthok is childish and enjoy acting silly, the other is Battle Ranthok who is serious and takes control during a fight.
Theme Song: Casual--Chao's Doki-Doki Banana Chips Run Mix, Battle--Fury of the Storm by DragonForce
Vessel: A katana with an orange handle and an orange ribbon hanging from it.

Host:

Name: Akahi Kameha
Gender: Male
Background: Akahi is a 14 year old boy with an interest in magic. He recently joined a group of fellow students at his school with a similar interest. A few days ago they found a mysterious sword at a pawn shop with a paper containing instructions for obtaining great power and the name of a god on it. Akahi volunteered to have this ritual performed on him...
Ability: Incredible speed, beyond that of any of the other gods normally bestow upon their hosts. As in nearing supersonic.( Not that Ranthok can control this power completely at the start.)

I did the edits.

never thought about it, so I'm gonna say yes.

Emong your fine

Deathpigeon, if thats the case then it is not satisfactory. For it to be in something so modern it would mean only a few years ago the ritual was done to transfer the god into there. Which means a cult is probably connected. I dont see why a fanatical cult would take their deity and think "hey why not give our artifact of unimaginable power to some random kid." I will also remind you that the ability is what the human has, not the god, and that with shared control he would be pretty insane

deathpigeon 01-21-2008 09:34 PM

They way the cult was involved was the documents Sprint discovered and it wasn't given to him on purpose.

Bosolai 01-22-2008 03:01 AM

For the story, I was thinking the god's vessel in particular would be a diary with his name on it. He retains a form of memory in the sense that he studies his diary inside and out every time he changes hosts, and makes entries of the important details (name, allies, enemies, where an artifact might be hidden, etc), but the information there might not necessarily have been written by him or even true.

As for the transmutations, I was thinking that at early stages, it would only be "one element to another" or "one compound to another" at a relatively slow rate proportional to proximity (like turning a toilet into gold over maybe 30 seconds when touching, maybe a couple minutes when standing in front of it), and eventually advancing to allow "multiple elements/compounds to one element/compound" or "rapidly shifting one element to another".

And for the record, I haven't seen FMA, so I don't really know how that works or if I'm drawing any parallels, but I don't intend him to use the ability all willy-nilly or for ridiculous feats. He might take a finely crafted steel sword and make it mithril given the chance, but he wouldn't go around turning everything to solid profit or decide every time he used the facilities he needed a golden throne, and he wouldn't have the ability to shape what he was transmuting, let alone craft something crazy ornate.

Might this be okay? If not, I'll probably think up a new power.

FF fanboy 01-22-2008 09:17 AM

I'll reserve a spot and submit a bare bones product.
I was so tempted to do a god of flight for this but that would be lame lol
Name: Tithrindale
vessel: A late 18th century revovler
Human's name:Yuri Nakomata
gender:male
ability: the god gives the host great skill in whatever weapon he picks up
all weapons with ammo or arrows dont run out unless he wills it.
Background: Yuri Nakomata was a rich gun collector and a cop his carrer was on the fast traqck and he was almost chief when suddenly for almost no reason he dropped out and joined the CIA noone really knew why he quit the force to join the CIA. The reason why was that he was not in control of his body because of a old revovler he had purchased that turnned out to be the housing of a god and he was possesed by the spirit and through the possesion his mind was shattered like a crystal glass when a perfect high C is sung near it. The god was a subtle god only violent secretly and silently
