What do you name your FF chars?
 

What do you name your characters in FF 1, 2, or really any FF game? I'm playing FF1: Dawn of Souls right now, and I've got:

Warrior: Aston
Thief: Locke
White Mage: Ruby
Black Mage: Khorne

Also, sorry if this is in the wrong subforum.

Good show, my boy!

Monk/Black Belt/Whatever: Trunks (DBZ, obviously)
Thief: Raidei (Trigun)
BM: Zabuza (Chant of the archers in "Hero")
WM: Minome (No clue how I came to this)

I recall naming the main character Chris a lot in my younger days.

Hmm. I generally name them after people that I know (or names that I thought sounded cool/funny). Or I just keep them the same if I think the name fits well.

For example, my Chrono Trigger names:

Crono - Josh
Lucca - Allie
Marle - Jessa
Frog - Glenn or Cyan
Robo - Robo (original!)
Magus - Magus/Janus (more orginality!)
Ayla - Kate
Epoch - Matrix (this was before those movies, and I know it's not a character, but you can name it)

Usually in my games there's at least a Josh and a Jessa. Something I started when I was little and continue to do so.


EDIT: whoops, I guess that's not techically a FF game, but I think the point still stands.

I name the main character Mondt. Except I don't even do that anymore because their real names fit.

Oh and in FF9, Vivi is "Vinni" and Steiner is "Krunch"

In FF1, I just hit the randomizer a couple of times until something I like pops up.

It comes with a randomizer? I didn't know that. Does it come with an unrandomizer?

Actually, after reading the DnD 30 year anthology or whatever book ("with foreword by Vin Deisel"), all my characters for a while were Fuck, Vin, Diesel, !!!!!!!. But I prefer games where you could name your ENEMIES, like pokemon. Those were significantly more fun.

EDIT for oh: I know I&II Dawn of souls did. Praps I should drag out my old originals. There wasn't an "unrandomizer," you just changed the specific characters names you wanted to. You usually got stuff like Desh, Wedge, Luca, Aris, etc. (etc. was a very common one)

I named mine:

Warrior: Fiter
Thief: Thief
Black Mage: BMage
Red Mage: Rmage

And if those are too long then I must have just used BM and RM respectively.

In Final Fantasy IV,
Cecil is Pyros
Edge is Naruto (cuz they're both asses, and not the "bad" kind)
Yang is the much cooler sounding Lao.
Edward was first "Spoony", but then "Jeremy".
Fusoya is "Yofusa"
