So...Witch Hunter Robin...
So far I have to say that I'm rather well...unimpressed with WHR so far. It must not be my cup of tea I guess, but I just can't connect with it so far. Maybe it was the first episodes that tried too hard to be like the X-Files. Maybe it's the secondary characters at the STNJ that fail to hold my interest with their boring conversations and lack of backgrounds. Maybe it's the chief guy that looks just like Hitler. Maybe it's how nothing happens for the entire episode until the battle at the end that only lasts for about 30 seconds. Maybe it's that piano melody they feel the need to play in every episode, sometimes three times. Maybe it's that creepy restaurant guy. Maybe it's the fact that Robin suffers from some sort of age disorder that makes her look twenty-something. (Sixteen my arse). Anyway, I've seen all but two episodes so far and I keep getting disappointed, which is sad 'cuz I was looking forward to this series. Maybe I just hyped it up in my mind, I don't know. But yeah, enough of my bitching, what do you guys think of WHS?

I say meh. It isn't the best but it is worth watching. I think they need more character developement. I mean the haven't realy explain whats going on. Why are there witches at all, what exactly is that necklace thing, what exactly do the bullets do?
|
I wasn't too sure about it in the first few episodes, but I'm starting to reallly get into it (I'm watching it on the Adult Swim timetable, just so you know I haven't seen the whole thing). I thought it was going to be hunting witch after witch, but now I'm trying to figure out what is going on and all of that. I like it, but I don't have time to really go into why right now.

ehhh i like it. Sure it lacks a little charactor develpment but all animes are lacking something or other and the bullets are made with "Orium" or something that negates a witches power for awhile
|
See, the problem with WHR is that they just dropped a few gimongous plot twists in the last couple episodes, in which case you will have absolutely no idea what's going on.
As for the necklaces, called Orbo (I'm guessing that's how it's spelled), nullify a witch's power on the person wearing it. Anyways, who else thinks that WHR would make a fuckin' awesome D&D-type psionics campaign? Robin would be a stupid-fresh pyro, you feel me yo? Word. |
I like it, but all these plot twists are making my head hurt. Other than that, I think it's a neat idea.

I don't know about you guys, but I understand whats happening in the story almost perfectly. The show itself is wonderful, it's definetly got bragging rights for its clean animation and the different type of people loitering around.
My favorite char. is Michael |
The guy in the purple pimp suit... *L*
I think it's rather sad that Amon is in love with a 15 year old. Or so it appears. *cough*Pedo*cough* |
You know whats disappointing? Fans were rooting for a Robin/Michael pairing. How sucky would that be?
Suckier than-- Sorry, I'll stop... :rmage: |
At least they'd be in the same age group.. Of course, Michael has that whole mullet thing going down.. Hey.. In a sort of realted topic, has anyone else noticed that Inuyasha has a mega-mullet? Freaky.
