Underrated games

What games do you think are the most underrated? Give some reasons why.

My list:

Ganbare Goemon series
I think the whole Ganbare Goemon / Mystical Ninja series is hugely underrated. I mean, Goemon 3 is one of the best platformer I've ever played. The N64 games were also great. They all have good stories and excellent gameplay, and they also have some of the best music that I've heard in a game.

Metal Slug series
The only people that I know that play Metal Slug on a regular basis are arcade gamers. And really, how many arcade gamers still exist? The true greatness of Metal Slug is in the art and cooperative play. Metal Slug 3 pulled both of these off perfectly, which is why it is my favorite game. Speaking of Metal Slug 3, it might come out on XBox in May. Online cooperative play... :D :D

Jet Set Radio
This game was awesome in every way. Well, except the music in Grind City and stuff. But the graphics were awesome and completely innovative (first game to use cel-shading); in fact the whole game was innovative. I don't remember any other games where you ride around on rocket skates and spraypaint walls while being chased by a military helicopter.

hmm underated games
you already mentioned Jet Set Radio so I won't

Star Ocean: The Second Story
It was great, the fact that there were 200+ endings made for great replay value, the fact that there were different characters you could or could not get, the side quest that were numerous and various that depended in part on what characters you got.

Legend of Legia
The game was great, the combat system was more involving then most others, I mean if you didn't have a strategy guide or cheat sheet meant most people found them selves fighting random battles for the sake of accidentaly discovering a new move.

gahhh I'll post more later

Battle of Olympus!

It's a NES game that ripped characters from Greek mythology and turned it into a bloodbath with Orpheus leading the way, down into Tartarus where he can free his sweet heroine (Who was Orpheus' babe again?) from Hades.

You get to kill sirens, cream dragons and knights in Crete, fight the Hydra, cyclops, Gaia and all kinds of other 8-bit-ized myth characters!

Really, it's a lot of fun and I really wish I still had the game. It was also one of the hardest and most difficult to solve sideview RPGs I'd ever played, and that counts for something, because I've played a lot of old RPGs.

GunValkyrie
A platformer that was one of the first Xbox games. You basically go around boostjumping, hovering, and blowing bugs to smithereens. Lots of fun.

Star Ocean had 86 endings, not 200+.

I found Kirby Air Ride to be fun, but no one else has it/likes it. The stars are all completely different from each other, unlike in other games where the racers are just subtle differences.

Ledgend of Lagia
Was great. I totally agree with you

Amplutude or Frequency
An underrated PS2 game of Rythem type. Fun has hell. Specially with friends.

Brave Fencer Musashi
How the hell have you people not bought this game? How many times do I post about it and you guys just ignore me? IT KICKS ASS!

Byond Good and Evil
Rarely do I buy a game because it "looks diffrent." But thank GOD I did. This was definatly one of the funnest Action/Adventure games I had ever played. Hell there was REPLY VALUE! Nice job Ubisoft...realesing it the same day as Prince of Persia. You idiots.
Which I thought PoP wasn't that great. It was above good, but not great.

Dynasty Warriors Series
Eveyone dislikes it now. "It's all the same" blah blah blah SHUTUP. Each one is like a slightly more powerful drug. Each time you play it, your hooked. But then, 3 months later, your actually BORED. So you want a new one. When it comes out, your hooked, and cycle repeats.

I could go on and on. Next to every game I have is unknown but kicks ass. I have yet to make a bad choice.

Over where I live, everyone hates FFT.

Any Adventure game, basically. Namely, the longest journey and the monkey island series.
