Apparently a man constructed a castle in secret behind hay bales in order to avoid planning laws. Yes.

That's... that's amazing.

He was relying on a law that structures over four years old with no objections are exempt from the planning laws. Now there's a movement to get it pulled down. Thoughts?

The world would be a better place if there were more castles, the planning commission is staffed by dicks.

That is awesome, but...

How the hell do you build a castle for 50,000 Euros? That's, at most, the equivalent of like $200,000, right? I mean, its a damn castle. You'd think those would be hella expensive.

Agreed whole heartedly, they're just sad cause they don't have castles.

The guy should have waited til he installed a moat before unveiling it.

It's another case of someone finding a loophole. Haven't people realized that everything has to be arbitrary now?

Also, this thing is armed. I'll be right back with my chainmail and sword. I've got a small army, but this thing might be a pretty tough place to crack.

Personally, I think it's his money, his home of four years, and his blooming land.

What other person or entity has the right to arbitrarily take that away if their own conditions for its destruction have gone unmet? The article said nothing of a complaint.

It's a lot more expensive to buy one than it is to just build it.

I don't think its so much him getting caught as it was him saying "Here is my master plan and its undefeatable in its current state!" and the hero just saying "What about the abort button" and the guy saying "...fuck."
