What about the attack he does a bit later? The spin into shell without heavy spinning thing?
And yes, I feel like questioning how they do their "mojo", mostly because it doesn't seem like they're doing so awesomely. |
The problem is that you're questioning their mojo based on criteria that, frankly, doesn't make an ounce of sense compared to other points that enforce their mojo.

My main complaint is not using side smashes and, yes, now I know that Bowser's side smash is way too slow, but the problem is that most videos still have people using them too little. Like they're afraid that they'll miss and lose, so they use something that, granted, doesn't work as well, but doesn't leave you vulnerable. Being a professional in something means you know when to take risks, among many other things, but these people just seem to fail in that criteria most of the time because they hardly try to take the risk of using a side smash.

...Wait, what?

But the fact is that, side smashes, while sometimes are basically asking for problems, are in other situations very good and SHOULD be used. But no, people use down or up smashes instead. That's what I don't understand.

Up and Down Smashes have wider hitboxes and, therefore, present less risk? Again, excluding some characters like Marth, where they can and should spam side smash at every opportunity... give or take.
I don't see the problem. Also, at 1:28, we get a Falcon Punch that reverses mid-charge. Awesome. |
Okay, my final post on this:
It's a simple thing. I don't feel like believing that doing a close-range uppercut or some random breakdance move is better than kicking your oponnent. In the nuts. With fire. ( I'm using C. Falcon as an example, in case someone doesn't understand ) |
Breakingdancing and kicking people in the nuts have nothing to do with SSB. Trying to present logic that would make sense in real life for a video game makes no sense. Like Loyal said, hitboxes, ability for other people to hit you, that's what matters. If you have quick fingers that allow you to stay out of danger as easily as you would side smash, then why not breakdance?
|
You don't get what I said, there. The uppercut has a small range, the breakdance kick has a wide hitbox, but not as far as the side smash. It's only a bit slower than the breakdance, too, unless it got nerfed or the breakdance got quickened. I've seen people wait for the enemy to come closer for the down+b move, even though the side smash would work since it targets further away.

SSBB is a game. For entertainment.
I intend to treat it as such. I'll play Olimar because it looks like fun. |
