Really, Really Bad Internet Games
We've all seen the ads for these things. Usually when you're browsing webcomics or shopping online, you come across an ad for a game like BiteFight, and you just go "Yeah...."
So let's hear it! What're the names of some really bad internet RPG games? (And don't pick on Adventure Quest. It's fun in small doses) |
Adventure Quest.

The intentionally bad games from Homestar Runner, are pretty bad. Secret Collect being a big contender for awful game.

Adventure Quest truly is horrible, but the makers have more games, equally horrible and half of them need you to have a premium account on Adventure Quest ( which involves paying ) to even start playing. Dofus is also a crappy game. It's a turn-based strategy game which would be good, if not for the fact it claims you don't need to pay anything and can still play the game normally, yet all monsters level 15 and up only show up in premium areas. So, yes, you're stuck with level 14 enemies. Forever.
Edit: I'd say Tibia too, but given it doesn't have ads everywhere, I won't. |
Runescape, easily.

RuneScape is just bad. Why? Apparently, for any task in that game to not be mind-numbingly tedious would be broken. Case in point: making flour. You have to go find a wheat field and pick 28 pieces of wheat (Your inventory has 28 slots and some items stack, but apparently wheat does not. You can carry 28 steel two-handed swords, or you can carry 28 pieces of wheat.), then find a mill and climb to the top floor. You put the grain in the hopper. You push the lever. You put the grain in the hopper. You push the lever. You put the grain in the hopper. You push the lever. You put the grain in the hopper. You push the lever. You put the grain in the hopper. You push the lever. You rip up fistfuls of your own hair trying to figure out who decided this was a good idea. Also, the community is about on par with Gaia Online in terms of intelligence and maturity. It's a cesspit, really. |

Everything from the company that makes BiteFight, Gameforge. They have a crapton, and all are about the same level of particular horribleness, and they don't even tell you what kind of games they are, or anything about gameplay until you actually start playing, it seems. Which, when I'm shopping for online time-wasters, is a pretty key feature of a webpage.
AdventureQuest isn't so bad for what it tries to accomplish: An RPG themed mindless timewaster. If you go in expecting more, then you really ought to slap yourself and say "Internet Games are not for deep gaming!" I seem to remember some Neopets ripoff that was 8,000 times lamer than the original Neopets, but I can't remember the name of it. |
I'd say Webkinz, but I'm probably biased because my little brother is so obsessed with it and it pisses me the hell off.

Probably Tibia. I even remember when I discovered Runescape, and I got all happy because it was a UPGRADED version of it.
