I have a feeling that when Vaeri said "nonlethal" she didn't also mean "nonviolent."

Oh well.

PhoenixFlame 02-23-2008 09:40 AM

It's nothing lethal. Just enough to make you twitch wildly and scream.

;)

secretskull 02-23-2008 12:07 PM

Why am I getting an ominous feeling?

Truce 02-23-2008 08:08 PM

Maybe it has to do with the fact that we, as heroes, tend to be only slightly more effective than the Light Warriors.

Gorefiend 02-23-2008 09:03 PM

Slightly more effective? I think by now they'd have already killed a Giant (and razed his forest...)

Truce 02-24-2008 02:10 AM

To be fair, indiscriminate murder is not the same thing as being a hero.

PhoenixFlame 02-25-2008 11:25 PM

Since killing people is simply bad sport, and wracking them with pain is arguably nearly as bad, this spell settles for simply draining their stamina on a grand scale. Nothing lethal here, unless it was amped up to eleven on some sickly fellow.

Arhra 02-26-2008 10:47 AM

I knew I was holding back on having the patrol arrive for a reason.

Nothing good can come of this.

And yeah, I'll be slowly introducing and grouping up a few rivals in the background. Glad I've finally made a start on it.

TDK 02-26-2008 03:30 PM

Are we allowed to kill the soldiers...?

Arhra 02-26-2008 10:11 PM

In the sense that they are flesh and blood people who do tend to die if killed, yes.

In the legal sense, no.

Arcanum 02-28-2008 08:58 PM

Just letting you all know I won't be able to post until Sunday due to a crapload of time-stealing things going on at the moment.

Arhra 03-01-2008 04:08 AM

Hmmm, in order to save time, I might just check if anyone is going to try something before the interrogations begin. If not, we can just skip over that part.

To summarise what would happen without interference, after everyone's put their weapons down, they'd get called up one at a time to hand in their stuff. If they are a mage (and yes, it's possible to determine if someone's got magical ability), the soldiers will have their spare mage put a spell on them that interferes with the ability to cast spells on that person.

After that, they would all be herded together and forbidden from speaking with one another. They'd then be picked out one at a time and questioned.

secretskull 03-01-2008 04:17 AM

Ok, it's time to activate Plan: Spike Wall! Getting questioned is not on our schedual.

Krylo 03-01-2008 06:24 AM

For my character it really depends on if anyone else tries anything and whether it looks like it's going to work or not.

Arhra 03-01-2008 09:08 AM

Yeah, I just thought it would be better to check rather than have awkward drop off points where people wouldn't have much to do if they didn't have some plan.

If it does come to interviews, I think I'll have them run in parallel in posts. Otherwise we'll have players stuck doing nothing while one person after another is questioned.

Also, I think its hilarious that the relatively innocent people seem to be panicking the most.

I'd rather take my chances with social engineering than getting perforated with arrows. If there were more meatshields lying around, I'd be all for spiky wall plan.

Truce 03-01-2008 12:44 PM

I have one plan. It would involve getting someone shot, though, and having to kill everybody afterwards so they don't figure out what happened.

PhoenixFlame 03-01-2008 02:27 PM

That sounds like one of those plans where you lose your hat.

Any plan that causes you to lose your hat is a bad plan.

TDK 03-01-2008 02:37 PM

I'm all for guard slaying at this point. We should take a vote, perhaps.

Arhra, can you give me some kind of estimation of how much matter I can transmute or, like, the limits of my elementalism? How big of a fireball I can make, etc.

Gorefiend 03-01-2008 02:57 PM

I don't know why no one could band up with my lie. It covered for most everything! But meh...

I have no plan, but I definitely want to stay alive and be able to come home without treason charges waiting for me, so I'm unlikely to be up for fighting. Running isn't out of the question, but if we collectively turn ourselves in, Lucius'll be telling the truth as best he can estimate it.

Or... Ecurt, if Roland has courtiers pursuing him, now may be an interesting time to bring them in.

Look at it this way - it's not your hat.

But, I don't want to do anything that'll inconvenience everyone.

Arhra 03-03-2008 07:11 AM

Not much of a post. I thought everyone would want a chance to respond to what's happened.

Anyway, I thought people might be happy to know that I've begun a little planning for a possible situation once this is cleared up to give people a better chance to show off their powers.

It might involve undeads. Spooky!

secretskull 03-03-2008 07:48 AM

Blah, Ninjad. I'll delete my post... I was going to fog him up.

PhoenixFlame 03-03-2008 05:54 PM

You might notice that Vaeri isn't warning anyone of the charged flashbang magic. She is after all, only looking out for herself, and anyone who gets blinded and captured is that much less attention the city guard has on her.
