Help with Media Player Classic
so, I torrented the first 13 episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam: 00 from here, and yes it's perfectly legal because they aren't licensed in the states. In any case, I got the 704x400 .avi version, and when they finally finished, something bad happens.
I get audio perfectly fine, but no video at all. windows media player just turns on the visualizer, MediaPortal says absolutely nothing on the subject, and Media Player Classic gives me this message: "Media Player Classic could not render all the pins in the graph, you may not have the needed codecs or filters installed on the system. the following pin(s) failed to find a connectable filter: Quote:
In case you haven't guessed, I have absolutely no damn clue what this means or what I have to do to fix it. can anyone help me get these to play properly? I was using uTorrent, if that helps. |
I say try another Media Player. Sometimes there are differnces even within file types. Annoying trust me.
On another Media Player, I say try DivX or maybe Real Player, or even winamp. Those should play it. Hopefully it should. Of course, I cannot understand a word of all that tech info. Though I'm sure my suggestion might work. EDIT!!!: Are you using which Windows Media Player? Earlier players cannot play newer files sometimes. Finnicky Bastard. If need be, update your Windows Media player here:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../download.aspx |
you need a codec pack. but that's actually harder to do than just using this:
www.videolan.org if you want the specific video codecs, I'll go dig them up one by one, but I'd highly recommend just using VideoLan. |
I actually prefer using the CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) because of better support for soft-subs. It will play pretty much anything you throw at it.
Download and run the Insurgent, and then install the CCCP, and you're golden. Have VLC just in case, but I haven't used it in ages. |
Also, DO NOT UPDATE WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER!! It will eat and destroy the balance of codecs required to run anything! CCCP is by far the best set for your buck (free and not huge).
|
As another note: for portable media playing, VLC or MplayerPortable will give you the best results, as their codec packs are integrated. I still prefer the CCCP, but they're damn good players in their own right.

just install the Kazaa codec pack. It comes with Media Player classic, plus, all the codecs for you to watch anything at all ever.

K-lite is too bloated for my taste. The CCCP is comprehensive, yet minimalist, if you understand my meaning.
Plus it is the official solution to .mkv files. That's a big plus in it's favour. |
None of my video shit was working right until I downloaded CCCP not long ago. Works like a charm and it comes with the newest Zoom Player and Media Player Classic, and it's small. Uninstall your old codecs, K-lite is old and terrible and you don't want to go to the trouble of coordinating 30 seperate codec installations. Things will go wrong.

Eh, CCCP just failed when I tried it. It didn't install right, so i stuck with K-lite which has just always worked.
