Allow me to summarize this guy's life:
Guy: "Hey Lego, I wanna design Legos." Lego: "Okay here's some Legos, show us what you got." *Guy builds stuff with Legos* Lego: "Holy shit, you kick ass at Legos! Wanna ditch high school and spend the next 20 years making up new Legos?" Guy: "Shit yeah!" |
Okay, I really envy that guy right now. What a fun job! *turns green*
|
You can't get too old for legos, It is just not possible.
|
I wish they'd rehire him again, so we'd stop getting Lego products which are essentially just a plastic castle, in one huge piece, with lego knobs on top.
Then I'd buy lego's and build and build and build. |
Is saying legos one of those things where you pronounce stuff funny on the internet, or do you really say legos in the US? I've always just heard lego as the singular and the plural.
|
Nah the plural is so legos. I don't want none of your funny continental language. I never understood all the crazy huge lego sets though. All you need is the little bricks. Having things already designed for you seemed silly to me.
Except the pirate ship. That was awesome. As was the castle. Every other lego set which is not just component parts is stupid. |
Yeah, once they moved away from the more universal pieces into the pieces that essentially rendered instructions pointless, Legos kind of lost their flair.
Even better than the castle and the pirate ship were the NINJA castle and NINJA pirate ship. They're real, believe me. |
Any time Lego wants to get off their Exo-Force anime merchandising trip and start making awesome spaceships like this again would be just fine with me.
|
Exo-Force isn't all that bad. They've got joints! I've been waiting for joints for too long! The anime thing has to go though, it's just really bad. They need to make more sets with moving parts, stuff like Transformers where you can move pieces around and junk. Like... well, I tried to build something akin to the bikes on Storm Hawks, that kind of idea.
And the plural will always and forever be Lego. |
Funny note:
As far as I know, it is LEGO bricks as plural. LEGO is a brandname and the name of the company. Even funnier note: It should be written down in all caps. And with a trademark symbol. LEGOŽ. So I found out myself recently. And the recent... Mars set, I think, isn't too bad. It's got some decent ships in it. But mostly on the human side. The aliens are just sorta included there, like it's an afterthought. And as a kid I, in my mind at least, was the first one who EVER made two-seater cars out of LEGO. Because it just didn't make sense to have one-seater cars. Like... seriously. So, I tried building this awesome car. And it WAS awesome. Big wheels from a LEGO Technic set. Big engine block in the rear. It was the jeep from hell, it was. And I even made it modular. I could lengthen it, should I decide it needed four seats, rather than two. I could add a roof, should it be raining. Hell, even weapon pods, if I remember correctly. I should rebuild it sometime. Maybe design it online and order all the parts from LEGO itself. Hmm... |
