Dexter
So yea, its a show about a serial killer who hunts down and kills other killers, who acts under the guise of a blood spatter analyst. Anyone else catch the premiere last night? I thought it was pretty freakin creepy.

Wait, a premiere of a two season strong show...oh, the network premiere, I had forgotten about that after the good news of the strike being resolved. I'm honestly surprised that they went through with this now that things have settled down.
I mean, it sort of makes sense as a stopgap measure to cannibalize your premium cable offerings as a 'new' network offering while you have literally shit-else to put up, but I'm sure they could have run re-runs for the month or so until actual new content became available. Anyways, which method of censorship did they use for Deb? I remember they established her foul-mouthed tendencies pretty heavy in the beginning. How much of Dexter's killings do they show? But anyways, I like the show, although I'm used to watching it mostly from Showtime's On-Demand which allowed me to skip through all the non-Dexter related aspects (seriously, I've never seen a show demonstrate such a remarkable ability to both stimulate and kill momentum from scene to scene), although this rule of course doesn't apply to Masuka. |
I love it. Our miniseries channel that just started used it as it's big name premiere, and they just finished running the first season this past Thursday (2nd starts next week, which makes me really happy no delay). It's about my favourite new show in a long time, since Arrested Development probably. I seem to have a thing for dark comedic narrators.
Also does anyone else find the opening is one of the cleverest bits of cinematography ever? Who knew preparing breakfast could be so damn creepy. I always wince at the fruit. |
I didn't watch the network premiere...how horribly edited was it? What did they do with the extra twenty minutes of footage (Showtime doesn't have commercials so each episode is about 55 minutes long instead of the average networks 40 to 45)?
I would think they would also edit the violence, but then again this is CBS, who strive to be family friendly while providing a show where two people having "bungie sex" discover a dead body under a bridge (CSI don'tchaknow), so I don't know what the heck they'll do with Dexter. Is it on at ten or something? I might watch these reruns since I never saw the first season of Dexter, but I might not... |
Was it twenty seconds long?

Actually yeah it's at 10, Magus. I think they'll just edit out some of the more gruesome things that deal with bodies, but the room full of blood is a necessary plot point, soo.... Oh and the blatent sex scenes with or without boobs.
And the blowjob. |
I watched the first five episodes of this show and had to go scrub my brain with a Brillo pad.
I've never in my life seen so much pure concentrated wrong. |

In the way that it was four hours of the adventures of a serial-killing sociopath.
I think I got as far as him making play-dates with the other serial-killing sociopath and said stop the ride I'm getting off. |
I've started watching this show on my completely and totally legal online TV show watching site(pleasedontarrestme), and I must say, it's creepy as fuck. I've only seen the first two episodes, but still. Creepy as fuck.
