Playstation 3 Games (Now With More Lightgun Technology!)
 

I'm currently trying to decide what game to buy for my PS3 - I can only buy one game, and I'm leaning towards Time Crisis 4, which comes with a Light Gun:

But I'm also leaning towards Oblivion and The Orange Box. Also, Drake's Fortune is on sale at the local thrift shop, but I'm not too interested in that. The Orange Box I already own, but for PC. My PC however, is not able to run it. So the choice is really atwixt Oblivion and Time Crisis 4.

I'm horrible at decision making.

I thought Oblivion was pretty bad but a lot of people like it and it's probably better than a light gun game.

A light gun game? You living in the 80s?
And I don't know if you've owned a light gun before but those things don't work unless you play at night when the moon is new, and the planets are all in alignment on the other side of the globe from you and there's like some kind of anti-light generator in your basement. Don't go there. Seriously.

Must have some pretty backwards light gun technology in... crap are you dutch? Goddamn it.

But seriously, Im always gonna suggest Uncharted, cause its always awesome. I enjoyed TC4 in a movie theater when I played it one time cause my friend Ellen kept nagging me. Youd want to find a second gun, as co-op is more fun, but I guess, if you really like the series it'd be good.

I do not reccomend Oblivion, as it seems fun at first, but gets insanely boring when you realize theres no reason to bother levelling up or treasure hunting.

Oblivion is really better for the PC, simply due to all the mods. Granted, the PS3 version is beautiful, but I'd personally go content over graphics any day.

Plus, it's been years since I've seen a home-use light gun. Not since Duck Hunt. And I'm good at shooters so long as I'm holding a gun, so my personal bias is towards Time Crisis.

Seriously, not buying Uncharted is like saying you hate everything good about the industry.

Time Crisis 4 sucks.

I love light-gun games, don't get me wrong -- I've got Time Crisis 2, 3, and Crisis Z upstairs on a shelf right now, right next to Ninja Assault and the horrible Dino Stalker.

But Time Crisis 4 is just a bad game, no matter how you slice it. There are certain rules you should follow when it comes to Namco products:

1) If it's not Katamari, don't buy it.
2) If it's Soul Calibur, only buy it if you're into character balance issues.
3) ...Don't buy Time Crisis 4.

...Oh yeah, and your reward for beating TC4? FPS Mode, where you can enjoy using your pieceashit GunCon3 like the most poorly designed controller in history.

If you're not into Uncharted (my strongest recommendation), I guess that leaves you with Orange Box and Oblivion.

Oblivion's great if you're into boredom.

Is it that the light gun isn't responsive, or is a bad controller, is it that there's no real plot, or is it just that the game is repetitive?

Yeah I don't think Uncharted looks very good/interesting but honestly I'd pick it over those other games you mentioned.
