PSP Thread

I didn't like the psp at first, but I like it now that I can connect to my school's wireless network. Now I realise it is a great system, just not for umd games. Thoughts, opinions? Anyone else love their psp?

PS: I posted this from my PSP. Great browser for a handheld.

The homebrew you can do with this thing is amazing. Emulation still isn't perfect which is a little disappointing but whatever. It's got some pretty good games now too, such as the Star Ocean 2 remake, a few Tales Of games, Wipeout Pulse aka the best handheld racer ever in terms of sheer content, DJ Max Portable 2 if you like crazy rhythm games, and there's all sorts of other cool games, but most tend to fly under the radar sadly.

Really at this point the only reason I have a PSP is for homebrew.

I mean I'd probably buy more games for the PSP if there were more games for the PSP. I got Castlevania X and Maverick Hunter X, and except for Wipeout (Which I gotta find a copy of) there's pretty much nothing.

I mean sure MGS: Portable Ops but I'm not a big fan of MGS when you can't use first-person. I'm still thinking about other PSP games too, but Chains of Olympus is out in a month, I think.

I have a PSP, but I've got it fully upgraded for use with my PS3 rather than Homebrew. I just like the games that it offers, and the fact that I have an, albeit slim, UMD movie library to choose from. The whole internet/mp3 player thing 'aint too shabby either.

I plan to homebrew mine up to play Cave Story and other such things and it will be glorious.

Right now I play Daxter, which comes somewhat close to glorious sometimes.

Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness.....now I can play the 300 hour plus game on the go YAY!!!!

P-Sleazy 02-26-2008 02:50 AM

Well, there's always Monster Hunter. I logged in a good 300 hours on that game in half a year. Then I kinda got done with it and my PSP is collecting dust since I haven't gotten around to buying any new games for it. Why? Because I lack the money. My Wii is draining it all.

I do indeed love my psp. I've got all my music on it, a crap load of awesome vids downloaded from youtube, and whichever game I'm currently working through on it at all times (currently finishing off Daxter, since I already finished Pulse).

I really need to get a bigger memory stick though, 1gig is starting to not be enough. And unfortunately I'm having trouble with wi-fi in my area, which is annoying, because I really wanna do more with my psp, but hopefully that will change eventually.

But CoO is out soon, so that should tide me over for a while at least.

Actually you can on Portable Ops either your thinking of A!cd or...

Magus 02-27-2008 02:57 PM

Portable Ops is really the only game I can think of that I can't play on something else and would like to play. Luckily I can read a plot synopsis in various places such as GameFAQs so I guess I'm not missing out on too much...

I don't regret buying a DS instead of a PSP, is all I'm saying. DS has a ton of games I want to play. PSP has around maybe two, or three.

EDIT: Actually that God of War: Chains of Olympus looked pretty sweet for a handheld game, I wouldn't mind that one...
