The shows that should totally be on DVD (or, Studios are fucking bastards!)

The advent of the DVD brought about somthing magical and wonderful: Entire seasons and series of television shows archived and sold in a nice, compat format, free of commercial interruptions! And we all rejoice over such a brilliant innovation in marketing, because we love our TV. Love it like a family member, our favorite family member. But, what's this! Some of our favorite stories and jokes from our most favorite familial entity have gone missing! It is truly a travesty, and it must be righted!

So, yeah, come in here to bitch, whine, moan, and rant about how some of your favorite shows seem conspicuosly absent on the shelves at the local Best Buy.

Oh, you want my input too? Well, of course I am going to share it. God forbid I withhold my sparkling opinions which are most assuredly just and right from you, the masses of the internet. It would be a crime not to.

Night Court. Yes, I realize that the first season didn't sell so hot, Warner Home Video, but damnit, Warner Home Video, that's not the best season to gauge it's popularity with! Primarily because the cast was incomplete then! The cast everyone knows and loves didn't finish filling out until the third, fourth season! Come on, you know we want the real Night Court, so stop dicking us around!

Parker Lewis Can't Lose. There is no goddamned reason this shouldn't be oh so lovingly embraced by my DVD rack already.

Andy Richter Controls the Universe. I really enjoyed this while it was on. Shame on you, Fox, shame on you.

Also, as a special side note, WKRP in Cincinatti. Yes, I do realize that there probably isn't enough demand to offset the crazy liscensing fees, but it may very well be better to not release them than it is to severly edit and cripple them.

Oh, yes, I almost forgot. If you want to jolt your memory, as well as vote on the shows you most desire released, then aim your address bar at TV Shows on DVD, and fire at will.

Freakazoid!
Duckman
Rocko's Modern Life

Just off the top of my head, those. Give me time and I'll think of some more.

1960s Batman with Adam West needs to use its lawyer-repellent bat-spray and get itself out of its copyright issues.

Also, agreed on Andy Richter. Remember the episode with Conan O’Brien? "There's going to be a wedding! Cover your genitalia and run!"

And I think we're supposed to get Freakazoid sometime this year!

EDIT: Yeah, TVshowsondvd is one of the regular sites I check daily. I even sent them a tip on a story once for which they credited me by name and I felt special! XD

Duckman
Man, when I was in sixth grade I woke up early every morning to watch this show. I remember it simply as the funniest thing I had ever seen. I'd like to see this on DVD, if only to make sure I actually liked a funny show, or if it was just the, ya-know, effects that a bounty of big-breasted characters can have on a mind at that age.

Gargoyles Season 2 part 2 plz Disney...
Especially after how good the comic is doing. I need to complete the fucking season!

Brimstone. I'd also suggest The Invisible Man, but apparently season 1 is due out this month.

So yeah for that.

SWB
- I would've also mentioned the animated Sam & Max, but that's out now as well.

Nickelodeon needs to get off it's hump and release season 3 of The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Well, Paramount actually, they're the one handling the DVDs. And while they're at it, they should throw Salute Your Shorts on DVD too.

is it so much to ask for Megas XLR to be on DVD?

In fact while they are at it, I wouldn't mind Earthworm Jim either

Mirai Gen 03-26-2008 01:49 AM

Damn it where's my Earthworm Jim?
