Anything you used to be a fan of, but aren't anymore?

Have you ever been a fan of something, anything, but aren't anymore? And looking back, you wonder how the heck did you even come to be a fan of this something in the first place? Don't be shy, I won't tell anyone else.

For example, me. A long time ago, I was a fan of Pokemon. The games, NOT the anime. I bought a Game Boy Color just to play Pokemon Blue and later, Silver, and I bought a Game Boy Advance just to play Sapphire, but nowadays, I don't like pokemon anymore. I could care less about the franchise. I even mispronounce the name now! ("Me and my pokey-mans sure did beat up a lot of polka-mons, I tell you what!")

Also, a long time ago, I used to be a fan of the Command & Conquer games. I still own a copy of the original C&C, the first Red Alert, and Tiberian Sun. But after having discovered strategy games like Warcraft, Starcraft, and Warhhammer 40K Dawn of War, I can't be bothered to play C&C games anymore. However, I still think Kane is an awesome villain.

And lastly for now, a long, loooooong time ago, I was a HEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUJE fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I dug everything Turtles related: the cartoon, the movies, the games, the action figures. And yet, now, I'm just not a fan anymore. The Turtles just don't excite me like they used to. I guess I outgrew them.

Anything you used to be a fan of, but aren't anymore?

Your mom.

There's a point where "easy" becomes "really, just too easy."

And then that becomes "a scorching case of Herpes," and, well, there you go.

You can't be blamed for not liking CnC anymore. The new one was disappointing and unbalanced. Kane was still awesome though.

I used to really, really like Kirby games. Not so much anymore. But the handheld Pokemon games are still awesome, even though I don't play as much as I used to.

Uhm... does music count? Because I almost always find a song that I become near-obsessed with, but then I listen to it too much and get sick of it and hate it from then on. There are too many examples of this to list.

This is more or less true.

Now that you mention it, yeah; I used to be all over the Flash portal thing over there, now I just check it every so often for the front page games/movies.

Other than that, Counter Strike. Never did much of that CAL tournament stuff, but I played that a lot; had a lot of fun too. Then I just stopped playing one day, and haven't gone back. What's really sad is that I still have my old clan-mates on my Steam friends, and I haven't talked to any of them in about a year. So sad...

Anime. There was a time when I would gleefully watch any (or almost any) particular bit of anime that YTV would show. Then it got discovered by the rest of the world, and now that everyone and their mother is pumping something out it's really lost its appeal to me. I'll still watch it, yes, but it really has to grab my attention.

And yes, anything counts, including music.

Psh, it was all about the anime for me. I loooved Pokemon (back when I was a youngin' *coughmiddle schoolcough*). But then they added, like, 18 million new "undiscovered" pokemon, who were pretty lame, design-wise, and I instantly stopped watching.

^Same here. I loved the first 151 Pokémon, but after the third generation I just thought the new designs sucked. I wish they would focus more on new ways of playing instead of re-releasing the same game with a graphics swap all the time. Some new modes, like having two Pokémon in the same battle is interesting, but I'm still waiting for that one game where you can actually control your Pokémon in battle. Like Brawl, you know, except that you should be able to move in three dimensions. :D
