Neil raised his gun back up, dropping his idea of shooting the wounded man.
"I just don't like this situation." |
"Forty minutes more of this and the beast up there will be able to stop us. We have to draw it away. Failing that ... we have to go up stairs and keep it busy ..." Gabriel thought outloud. His face was a thunderstorm of emotions, raging through his eyes, and down to his tight lipped frown.
Breaking the hinges on the metal box, he removed the lid. Wrapping it in cloth from the blankets he placed it in his right inside jacket pocket, over his heart. Lighting the torches in the fireplace, he looked to the ceiling. "Well ... it's either up, or out ... whose coming with me?" No one answered. He smiled. It wasn't a happy smile. It wasn't a sad smile. It was a smile that said 'I'm going to do this. Wish me luck.' Turning around, the torch in his left hand switching to his right, he opened the door. Looking around the corner to see what the 'human shadow thing' was, he mad a made dash to his car. Once he was there, he was going to wave the torches as madly as he could. After that ... Well, he didn't know ... |
"Well, he's going to die. I get his pants." said Neil half-heartedly in a desperate attempt to lighten the mood.
|
OOC: While that is funny and unexpected, you should delete it. I didn't know he had updated to this point.
Gabriel throws open the front door and runs to the cars, where he starts waving his two torches and jumping around. |
He was a few feet to his car and closing ... so far the demon hadn't made a move ...
|

Mark still chants on hoping for the best for the poor guy... |
Clara looked out the window at Gabriel, who had run out, "Get back in here...." She said under her breath, knowing he wouldn't be able tohear her, but he wouldn't have listened to her anyway, he seemed determined on what he was doing. She kept an ear and an eye open for anything, wishing she had some kind of weapon.

Below the house, something stirred. It got up, and slowly walked up the stairs. Carefully, silently, it reached the top and opened the door. It took one step out, two, and looked around, spotting the nearest being. It slowly walked up behind him, and the rotting corpse of David bit into Frankie's shoulder. Frankie, understandably, was distracted from his chanting and yelled.
As Gabriel ran to the car, his only warning was a quick thumping behind him of something moving fast. He had time for one quick action. |
Diving to the side, Gabriel hears his heart beat slow with everything around him.
Everything slows to a crawl. Time doesn't move at all. In stasis he waits for the darkness to grab him by the ankles ... |
Frankie let out a loud string of curses at the pain of the bite, as well as the initial scream, and pulled out his pistol, shooting at the head of the thing latched onto his shoulder, before he even realized that it was slightly less dangerous than the thing in the attic.
