Cooking Skills?

I just thought of this because of my awful cooking at lunchtime today, so...

How to you rate yourself on how well you can cook?

I used to be able to cook fairly well (easy stuff) but it's like I'm degressing or something. I really need to look at the instructions more often. (that's my biggest problem)
I was making hot chocolate today and I accedentally put in the chocolate mix before heating it, and I was look "oh well, it all gets heated the same anyway..." Nope...it basically blew up and I had to clean out the microwave.

And you never want me cooking or making anything when I'm hyper. I was making Kool-aid and it didn't taste right, so I poured in some sugar.... a LOT of sugar.... to pre-sweetened Kool-aid.... ^^;; (my next sentance after drinking my ultra-sweet kool-aid was "I was hyper before I started drinking..... sugar..... kool-aid.")

And man... you are lucky you didn't have to choke down the mac and cheese I made the other day.... I have no clue what I did wrong, but it was gross.

But I am pretty good at eggs, ramen, and french toast. ^^

So how good of cooks are you guys?

i dont cook very often, when i do i usualy do alright. ive 'improvized' my way through a few dishes, but i usualy stick to recipies.

I've learned how to make the best out of what's left in the fridge, so I have to say I'm Iron Chef style. When you get on your own you'll learn veeeeeeery quickly or you'll starve (ramen only goes so far).

I'm a pretty good cook actually. Well...at least good enough. My cooking skills I have learned from my father who works at a restaurant, from my cooking classes at school and from my scouting hobby...

You'd be surprised -- I have a couple cousins who still don't know how to do anything more advanced than mac-and-cheese, and one of them is married. :O How either of them made it this long I have no idea.

I can cook pretty decently... I usually have to either make dinner or help my mom in the kitchen. Mostly I'm a fry cook though. I'll fry anything and eat it. Mmm... greasy fried food. My current favorite is bacon, eggs, cheese, and jalapenos on toast with miracle whip (kraft salad dressing [even though the commercials say it's for sandwiches]... not mayonaise). You can literally feel your heart clogging as you eat it.

I'll cook you anything as long as I have the recepie.

I can hold my own. On the grill I'm pretty good, especally with stuff like steaks. Although to be honest, I can't make pies to save my life. Something ALWAYS goes wrong.

Well, I CAN cook, but I'm too lazy to do it. However, if you give me a recepie(sp?), I can make a delicious dish, while I sometimes even improvise a bit and experiment with some ingredients.
