Meramon checked over his lot, trying to avoid eye contact with the humans. When they began to talk about the map he looked it over, then began speaking without really addressing anyone. "These two lines..." He began, his fingers tracing two paths that diverged from their current room. "If we're underground, both of them would lead to the great trees." He pulled back his hand, adopting a pondering pose. "It would be the closest we've ever gotten..."

He turned back, his fellow Meramon already picking up on his point. The escape attempt had necessitated that a number of their warriors hold off the enemy for the sake of the others, and the available fighting force was down to six.

"If we split into two groups, go down the paths..." His voice sounded unsure even as he formulated the groundwork. He paused in the middle, then finally paid attention to the humans. "Hmm, if you stay here you should be safe. They won't be able to get to you, we can thank the cave-in for that small favor. We'll go to destroy the trees and come back for you when we're finished."

"Thanks for your concern," Viola said after the silence had dragged for a moment, "but after what just happened, I'm not going to let you six go alone to hit those 'great' trees."

"I don't know about the rest of you," Viola said, running her gaze over the other of the humans, "but I'm going."

"Come on Star." With that, the brunette turned and began walking toward one of the tunnels indicated on the map. She'd like to watch some trees, and if she was lucky, a Banshee burn.

Starlemon followed Viola silently; they were in agreement on this.

Viola...was taking the lead. She didn't even have goggles. It was shameful of them, to not have as much initiative as her...

Well, Rosetta wasn't going to let her go alone!

"Let's go, Lunamon!"

"Okay, Rosetta!"

And then, the two of them ran off after Viola. Then they stopped, when they caught up, before walking at the same pace as the other two.

Jeremy followed those two, because as the leader, he couldn't just let them march off to their doom.

However, the going would be tough, for he also still refused to both leave his fetal position and let go of Chisokumon, forcing him to crawl using one leg plus five fingers. The fact that Chisokumon had spiky parts only made this more difficult.

Chisokumon was helping, though the touching was continuing, and who knew when it would reach full devastating effect, destroying him and all that he held dear.

Maybe Rosetta would know what to do....but he couldn't ask for her help now! He was in comfy jaws of doom!

"Oh, don't say it!"

"Hey, you're the one who wanted to go and fight", Lee said as he stood and began to follow the others.

"Yeah, but... walking? Again!!?" Buffalomon didn't look pleased at the idea.

"Would you rather wait here for Bansheemon to find and kill us all?"

"Onwards to great victory!!" Buffalomon sprang to his feet and began to follow Lee, the threat of impending death easily enough motivation to keep him moving.

Lee just cocked an eyebrow and gave the strange digimon a bemused stare. "Well that didn't take long."

"I'm easily persuaded when sound ideas are presented to me. In fact, I think we should double our walking pace, just to be safe."

And so he did as they quickly passed Jeremy and caught up with Viola and Rosetta.

Viola let out a mental sigh of relief. She was glad that she wasn't going to be doing this alone, despite what she had said; she doubted that would have gone well.

She smiled at the Rosetta and Lee as they caught up to her. "Thanks for coming, I'm glad to have help. It'll be good to have some back-up."

"Ahem." Starlemon interjected, landing on the girl's shoulder.

"I count the two of us as one person Star. I didn't forget you." Viola said with a slight laugh and pulled the bird into her arms.

Jun stared at the map intently, Houndmon now hanging over her shoulder staring too. The Meramon had said something about the group staying and them destroying the trees, but Viola and a few others started to walk down one of the paths. Jun stood up from her crouching position, Houndmon hopping down. "It's too late for you to tell us to stay here, we're involved in this battle now. I'll do what I can to help. We should stay together down one path and the Meramon should go down the other. We can protect each other better I think." With that she moved to a light jog, catching up with the rest of the walking group.

The eldest Meramon watched the humans leave down the opposite tunnel, most of his own brethren already razing down the hall. The injured and youngest stared at him, looking for a guiding light for what to do now. He looked back towards the path where the other five Meramon had set off, then back at those the Resistance had been formed to protect.

A Flymon swept aside any lingering doubt as it buzzed up to Meramon's eye level. "Go. We can wait here well enough." The unsaid end was a curt without you and Meramon was bright enough to pick up on the omitted phrase. He gave the assembly a look over, then a forlorn glance at the humans tunnel before running to catch up with the other warriors.

One of the younger Meramon had lagged behind in wait, but picked up speed to match his leader. There were a few silent moments before he attempted to quell the lingering suspicions. "Bansheemon captures if she doesn't kill you immediately. Those two humans and their partners are..." He couldn't conjure up the correct phrase. Fine didn't seem to carry the necessary amount of gravitas needed, and alive for now seemed too damning already.

Either way, the elder Meramon finished the thought for him. "Hmm..."
* * *
The human group breached the end of the tunnel, emerging into a too sterile subway platform, complete with waiting train. The lights embedded in the ceiling were so bright as to border on the abrasive side. Most noticeable were the gleaming rails, which had been polished to a sheen so pervasive that made they seemed to be made from hard light.

"Hazardmon A, submitting notice of probable tram station debris to Hazardmon 1."

The voice belonged to a bulky blue machine with a face. The central design scheme seemed to have been centered on blocks and folding cubes, as the digimon's main chassis was in a constant state of flux, compartments sliding to and fro, glimpses of tools and contained devices briefly seen before being overtaken in the next few shifting iterations.

"Hazardmon 1, accepting notice from Hazardmon A." This new intonation belonged to a duplicate of the first, this time with a sheen of red. The group realized they were caught in between the two. "Hazardmon 1, submitting solution to debris situation to Hazardmon A."

A deep thrumming whir filled the platform. The two machine digimon's compartments went through motions so complex as to make Rubix twist in his grave. Two extended appendages emerged from each of the Hazardmon, complete with drills and hammers and sanders that were frightening only for what they could do when applied to something less stalwart than metal.
"Commencing debris removal." "Commencing debris removal."

"Ooh! Does this mean they pick up trash? Cuz I've got this empty bag of cheez munchies in my pocket that I've been trying to throw away since forever!" Jeremy dug from his pocket, letting go of both Chisokumon and his fetal position to do so.

Chisokumon breathed a sigh of relief, and then ran to the side of Rosetta, lest Jeremy return to his apparent touch of doom.

Jeremy hurled the empty bag at the Harzardmon A, and watched as it was shredded to itty bitty pieces.

"Huh. Those guys are getting pretty close. Better tell them off." Jeremy thought, having had an idea from their speech patterns.

"Hazardmon 1 and A, please cease debris removal. Target is not debris. Solution is in err. You're both asshats."

OOC: I have returned!

Earlier:

"No way!" Said Prismmon. "There is no way I'm going to let you ride on me! I've got a high class reputation to maintain. I'm a role model to young digimon!"

Prismmon looked down at Roan menacingly. "It is not going to happen." He told Roan with finality.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Present Time:
"-on the trail we blaze!" Roan finished grandly.
"God I love that song. Don't you Prismmon?"
"You owe me so very much... You do realize that, right?"
Before Roan could reply, the group reached the Hazardmon, and watched the unfortunate turning of events.
"Hazardmon?" Roan asked, as the Hazardmon began to prepare to crush them. "You digimon aren't very imaginative in the name department are you?"
"Actually, there is a pretty good reason for that. You see-" Prismmon began.
"Save it! I need to think up a brilliant battle-plan. The ladies love a brilliant tactician you know."
"Couldn't I just fire some crystals at them?"
Roan pouted. "Sure, if you want to spoil the drama."
"I'll just go ahead and save your life then, ok? Prismatic Shards.
Prismmon fired off his, (completely non-gay), crystal shards at the Hazardmon, each one glowing with a different rainbow color.
