Rosetta had a plan.
It was called, ignore Jeremy. That was hard, though, as he had ran to her side, but she managed to do it right until he decided to throw, of all things, a wrapper at the digimon, which was promptly incinerated. After that, it was difficult not to be infected by his stupidity, and she soon found herself rubbing her temples. Soon enough, though, Lunamon tugged on her pants sleeve, reminding her the very important fact that they were going to die. "We're going to die!" "I know that already!" They had to do something. So far, though, all their encounters with technology had not gone well. First the email, then that stupid scanner, and now this! Then again, everything else seemed to be out to get them as well...though, she wasn't sure how that made things better. Still, what do they do? "Rosetta! I could digivolve!" "Didn't we try that last time?" "Of course! But this time it will work!" Rosetta blinked. Why would it work now, of all times? "The music's playing now, that's why!" Surprisingly, Lunamon was right. For whatever reason, the platform's speakers had started to play an oddly familiar tune. Feeling herself get pumped up, she punched her fist in the air and smiled. "Okay then, Lunamon! Let's do it, let's see you digivolve!" ...in the next post. |
Okay, this is getting stupid. Viola thought feeling annoyed, glancing around, from the blue machine to the red one. First rock, which fire -doesn't- work on. Then plants, which fire completely destroys and now...metal.
"I don't care what Pokemon says, well made steel does not melt." Viola muttered, her annoyance at the lack of consistency in the enemy body types showing. "Who said they're well made?" Starlemon replied, hopping out of Viola's loosening grip. "They're robots; of course they're well made." "Need I remind you of the broken computer?" Star shot back. "...right." Viola said, shaking her head. "Only one way to find out, go blast it!" "Digivolve?" "Later." "But why?" "Because if this doesn't work, we're not wasting that now." With that, the bird flew over to one of the Hazardmon that wasn't getting blasted by the totally straight crystals. She carefully stayed beyond the reach of its various sharp and painful implements, and released several sheets of fire at the Robot's head (and the higher up tools). Time to see how well these were made; they could only hope fire worked. |
"Oh snap! Everyone's saving their actions for later, while time is an issue! It looks like we're screwed. I just want to say Chisokumon, it was nice to meet a demon such as yourself before I died. Though losing my virginity to Motoko Kusanagi would have been nice as well." Jeremy beweeped, holding Chisokumon's furry hand.
<Eep! He's touching me again!> "Um...couldn't I just digivolve and fight them off?" Chisokumon tried to reason, hoping for a chance to save the day and get Jeremy's death touch off of him. "Oh sure. Like that'll do anything. I mean, your digivolution hasn't done jack squat to any enemy we've seen all day, so why would your electric attacks have any effect on robotic enemies?" "But we can't just stand here and watch our friends, and ourselves not to mention, die!" "Oh fine, but I want you to know that our efforts will be both futile an depressing! But not futile and depressing enough to be anti-heroes. I don't look good in black." Chisokumon Digivolve Tooooooooo Joltmon! "I've got an idea! If I run around in a tight circle, i might be able to charge up my kick shocker enough to take down at least one of them, then we can at least have room to run away from the other!" "But won't you get di-" Jeremy was about to interject, but Joltmon already started making it's rounds. Faster and faster Joltmon spun around the group, making sure not to run into anyone, as the Hazardmon made the space tighter. Soon a brilliant blue charge covered it's lithe body, which grew brighter as he went. <....Oop! My head! I don't think I thought this one through....So...dizzy...> |
"Lunamon is gone. She isn't here anymore. But in this my goggles, and in my heart, she continues lives on!"
"Rosetta...what are you talking about?" the now digivolved Lekismon asked, tilting her head. "I'm still here, and you don't even have goggles!" Rosetta coughed. "Oh, nothing." --- During the missing digivolution sequence, Rosetta had come up with a plan. Taking into account Lekismon's three attacks (Moon Night Bomb, Tear Arrow, and Moon Night Kick), she considered her options and decided that her chances on taking them and winning were nothing at all. However, if they worked together, there was surely something they could manage together. Maybe, they didn't even have to win! Lekismon was big; now bigger than herself. It wouldn't be too hard to carry Rosetta - or any of the rest of them. "Okay, I have an idea! But I'll need your help. Hold them off, and Lekismon will carry the rest of you away to the other side of the platform." |
"Go, Sealsdramon!"
Bursting onto the scene amid the chaos, Sealsdramon quickly took the time to activate his Scouter Monoeye. As Prismmon's shards clanged pitifully against the plating of the robot, the scanner took in the various facets of information relevant to the constructs...construction. He also managed to utilize Starlemon's underpowered flame slapping against the Hazardmon's frame to crosscheck any potential overlaps in weak areas. As the figures ran across his vision, a promising development presented itself. Both attacks had triggered the same forward defensive reactions, which in turn had drawn panels from the back, allowing a brief glimpse at a shouldn't-be-sparking subcomponent. From the available schematic references, the most likely candidate was the Dedicated Utility Hardware, which might account for the erratic processes currently mucking them up. When Sealsdramon then noticed that a lot of schematics for the Ostensible Umbellic Compound Hammer were popping up, he briefly remembered that the opportunities for stealth in an open platform when ambushed were close to nil, and that he had been too engrossed in divining the best offensively viable- He could almost see the comic like "BAM" as the hammer hit home, sending the lizard careening into a nearby pillar. He managed to right himself, albeit with a bit more strained grunting than normal. Looking to the others, he decided to put his knowledge to better use. "If you can make them defend their front enough, we should be able to strike at their malfunctioning rear...parts." |
"Alright, that sounds like a good idea, good idea guy! We should give you a laptop! Or an aging grandfather that enjoys prune juice! Either one works for me. Alright Joltmon, Revve on up, and I"ll put on a show for the Hazardmon! It's a good thing that I'm much more imposing than I actually am!"
Jeremy had heard Rosetta's offer, and decided he would be the one then to help, and not ride the cool Lekismon. The thing had gotten considerably bigger since the last time he'd tripped over it, and this proved to me a major factor in his decision making process. Now it was time to put on a show. Jeremy spiked his hair up and swapped his blue biker gloves for read ones with spikes, and marched confidently towards one of the Hazardmon. "Alright you giant, metal garbage disposal mon, you're threatening my friends, invading my personal space with a drill, and are probably not Y2K compliant! So therefore, I'm gonna kick your ass! OOOOH-RAH!" Stretching out his arm and supporting it his his hand propped under his wrist, he pointed his open hand at the oncoming Hazardmon. "This hand of mine is BURNING RED! It's roar tells me to grasp victory! ERUPTING BURNING FINGER!" His hand lit up with flame and his finger shone with power, a power that reflected off the Hazardmon's cold metal body, making a scene that at the very least would make a good cell phone picture to send to your friends. <Heh, the wonders that a lighter under your glove can do.> He mused, looking at his fire consumed hand. <Huh...y'know, that's actually burning a bit. I think....it just caught fire.> Pyros looked at his hand a bit longer. "AH! BURNING FINGER! BURNING FINGER! BURRRRNING FINGER!" He screamed, and began to smack his hands together to put it out. "Oooh! Hot hot hot! Ouchies! Dang it! Now I"ll need a new pair of red gloves!" Complaining yet again, he looked up and saw he had something else to complain about. The Hazardmon was within a foot of him. "Oh F-!" Jeremy bleeped as he literally darted away, back to what little space was left, hearing a drill scrape the ground behind him and a buffer sand the drilled earth smooth. "Jeremy does not liek teh robot! Joltmon, do your thing!" "Oooh kaaaay.....Dizzy!" Joltmon promptly hit Jeremy like a bus and sent him spinning into the air, while attempting to still do it's job. Racing at the Hazardmon Jeremy had entertained in an unpredictable path, he managed to hop through a spot to it's side, where he fired off a kick shocker at it's back side. Hopefully, it'd hit the doohickey Sealsdramon brought up, but Joltmon's aim was questionable at the moment. Jeremy hit a light switch on the ceiling, resulting in some degree burns and some light flickering above the battle, giving whatever the other digidestined did some more emphasis. (Or giving kids epilepsy and this would be one of those banned episodes). |
Between running away and beating them, Rosetta would definitely prefer the second option. Never mind she hated the idea of being anything like Jeremy - she had gone far too long without kicking ass. First, though, the Jeremy in question would have to stop being an idiot.
"Just what the hell do you think you're doing, Jeremy?!" she yelled, distracted for the moment. Lekismon, however, was much more focused than her partner at the moment. While Rosetta screamed, she followed Joltmon's lead, heading for the other Hazardmon. Rather than attacking immediately, though, she jumped over the hazardmon, staying outside its reach. Hoping it didn't have a melee attack, she prepared a couple Moon Night Bombs, a pair of white bubbles appearing in the palm of her hands. Landing behind the Hazardmon in a crouch, she spun around, throwing one bomb after another at the enemy. Then, without wasting a moment, she drew her bow, taking aim carefully. The flickering light, though, messed with her eyes, Lekismon still too unused to this form to fight completely naturally. |
"Alright, that totally didn't have the effect I was hoping for." Viola muttered as the thing's panels just moved in to block the Flare Wave. "But it'll have to do."
"Star! Keep the heat on that thing!" If it helped the other digimon, it was better then nothing. Besides, it looked like the little bird had better ability to dodge those freaky weapons in this form. She totally ignored Jeremy, it was probably better that way. Instead she chanced a look over her shoulder at the other Hazardmon, and wasn't encouraged by how much closer it had gotten. Might be time to come up with an actual plan...Viola thought to herself, starting to feel nervous. I think I might need to use that digivolve card soon. Meanwhile, not that far away, Starlemon was also feeling nervous. But more annoyed then nervous, the stupid robot kept trying to hit her with pointy spikes and drills and a hammer. It wasn’t working well, she was always able to stay just out of reach, but it was hard to give the thing concentrated fire while avoiding its attacks. I hate robots. She thought to herself, wondering when she could digivolve and show them just how much she hated them. |
"Oof!" Luckily, or perhaps unluckily, Jeremy had collided with Ciar shortly after his collision with Joltmon, which caused a collision with an unconscious Felinusmon. Or, rather, Jeremy had fallen over Ciar in his one-footed hopping that became precarious after being knocked into by a conductive digimon that never failed to remind Ciar of a Jolteon. Except it was not as cool as a Jolteon. Felinusmon had then been subjected to the lunatic's full weight as he had toppled.
It hurt. A lot. It also seemed to be just the right amount to wake up the feline digimon and allow him to subject the nearest humans to some rapid clawing. A few moments off-screen later, and Ciar looked like a large tic-tac-toe board. He wasn't sure if Jeremy looked the same, as he was too busy trying to strangle him to notice. As Felinusmon observed, he licked his claws clean of blood, approving of the life-attempt on the crazy human. And after he finished, the feline decided that interrupting his partner was a bad thing for everyone involved, save Jeremy, but no one really cared about him. So, the purple creature came up with his own plan of action. He leaped into action, again, literally, too drained to digivolve and had already decided that the plan worked better this way. With a smaller body, it was easier to evade mechanical parts attempting to dismember you. With this in mind, Felinusmon had set about trying to distract the Hazardmon that Joltmon was aiming for, jumping atop of it. Paw raised and wrapped in shadow, possibly for a Shade Scratch attack should he get the opportunity if the Hazardmon rearranged itself to defend the Kickshocker. It could also serve as the distraction itself so the Kickshocker could get through, which might actually be better. Hoping that either would work, the furry digimon prepared to do what it could. |
"Gluh! Hand! HURTS! Body! BROKEN! Claw scratches! STING! HAND AROUND NECK! Strangely pleasant compared to the first three!" Jeremy gasped as he tried to make sense of the world.
Ignoring most of the pain and the flawed efforts to close his windpipe, Jeremy managed to kick Ciar off of him and hobble to his feet. "Come on man! This isn't the time nor the place for this sort of thing! It's as if you aren't taking this life or death situation seriously!" He chastised. He was about to monologue about how they were the heroes, with himself especially being the leader, and how as the leader he saw that infighting would tear the group, so for the wellbeing of the group everyone would have to get along or he'd break their noses, etc; when a sudden loud rumbling noise was heard, followed by something that sounded a bit like Code Lyoko somewhere very far away. "Huh. Wonder what that was about?" Jeremy thought aloud, then wandered off absentmindedly. |
