GameFAQs... damn you straight to hell.
[EDIT] Strange, it was there a moment ago. Well, basically it embedded this video into its pages. |

It's truly an awful comic, but intentionally so. |
Ever had one of those awkard moments where you have seen an reference to some game or other ambiguous thing that you don't understand in the least? Yep.
Oh well. I just noticed that gamefaqs had a crazy poll up today. It was invisible! How did they find it? |
Heh, I was completely decieved by the YWIBAYSFB review as well. Then I read Powerup Comics itself, and realization slowly dawned on me.
Oh, a Never Gonna Give You Up poll. That's somewhat of a deviation from the Rickroll meme, I suppose. EDIT: I lost the game as well. Damnit to hell. |

Yeah, I don't think I've entirely made it clear that I absolutely despise April Fool's Day. I'm not kidding. I can enjoy something original, creative, and/or legitimately funny, but the bulk of this crap does not fit into any of those categories.
VGCats got a laugh out of me, as did Shortpacked! And Minus, if any of you aren't familiar with it, has been doing a great bit all day with redoing older comics in new and horrible ways. It started with taking episodes that were altogether wordless and redoing them in rather ugly art and having Minus explain the entire joke, and now it's become a manga. I laughed. Blizzard, as usual, had some good fun, not only with their news posts but on the forums, where they've been randomly inserting "lol", "roflmao", etc. into everyone's posts. Granted, it doesn't make most of the posts much different than usual, but they tried. It seems like everything else I've dealt with is either so blandly done that the only "joke" is that its a lie, or its just recycling some tired old meme that stopped being funny a year ago. Quote:

I mean, I'm sure it's likely fake because it's International Asshole Day, but it's at least a shining example of failing at comedy. EDIT: Oh, look! Confirmation! |
This one fooled us for a while.

Nintendo didn't actually pull that prank. It was done by some people in that place.
Seriously, what company hosts in 101mb.com? |

You know I feel kind of sorry for kids today. We had Freakazoid and Animaniacs and they get Loonatics. |
Happy April Fool's Day...oh damn, im too late to the partay...

The best kind of April Fool's Day joke is one that's started in November.

Those motherfuckers got it easy. |
Yeah but we actually had sex when we were kids.

Pics or it didn't happen.

I'm tempted to say that's illegal, but then I remember that means little to you.

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: hell yes, and thank god. |
Yeah, LK mentioned on his livejournal that a bunch of you guys nearly quit over the backlash.
That was kinda funny. |

So I had convinced Big Mac I was a woman.
I had him going to. Which surprised the hell out of me cause he's seen me on webcam and voice chatted with me before. |

Allakhazam supposedly had screens of SE's new MMO.
It was, of course, a clever ruse. Oh, and the entire site yesterday was a spoof of Hello Kitty Online. <_<; |
My favorite, and by "favorite" I mean "the one I hate the most."
|
This one was my favorite: The Grand Illusion
He of course told the readers he was joking: Japanese April Fools Day! Hehe, it only worked so well for him, because his entire book is about doing far less meaningless work and doing more enjoyable things, like MMA, Tango, Kickboxing, etc., etc.. I thought it was hilarious, although he may have permanently lost some readers who couldn't take a joke, since it now puts doubt into their minds about whether or not he's really the writer of his own blog. I mean, he outsourced his entire company, it's not that much of a stretch to consider him outsourcing a some personal matters. |
My favorite is from 1998.
