So who is faster?
Just a quick question.
Who is faster Superman or the Flash; running not flying? From the few things that I have seen the flash seems to be able to move at least slightly faster than Superman. I've seen at least a few times where he avoided hits from Superman. Feel free to draw on any of the comics, TV Series, movies ect. to answer this. I as far as I have seen the flash beats Superman in speed. Side note: For those of you that have seen the new Justice League on Cartoon Network. What do you think of what they did to the Flash? He is supposed to have been a rather respected and upsatanding scientist and they pretty much made him seem like a moron most of the time. |
Hes the comedic relief. Do you think that Martian thing could make jokes?
|
I admit that he makes for great comedy; but they went a little faar off the path with his personality. The other heros like GL and HawkGirl sometimes get in some good ones. The Flash is great for jokes but he definetly not as forward and goofy as they make him out to be and he could still be just as funny and make jokes without the personality changes.

eh, they just made him a wisecrack, he an't a scientist anymore. Sad if you've seen the series or the oldschool comics.
Flash has that one up on superman, definately. I recall a JL epsiode where they had to get supersonic waves emitted, and he asked the flash. By the time he was fast enough, it was just one swift streak around the room of red. I'm sure superman's fast, but not THAT fast. |
It's harder to run fast than fly fast in the way Superman does.
Sonic the Hedgehog beats tem both, although possibly only in his Super form. Or, if not, he can power up and go Hyper. If we're talking DC Comics, Dream could simply walk in and out of peoples dreams if he so wished (He can still walk/run, so it still counts) and can do so VERY quickly and would certainly beat them both. |
They actually had a race. On foot. I think Superman won, but I'm not entirely sure. They had some weather guy messing with them for a while, and made a glacier form on them in Nebraska (or some other flat state). They both got out, and I assume they found the guy and kicked his ass, then proceeded to finish the race. Like I said, I'm not sure who won. It could have been a tie, but I think Superman won because something happened to Flash that slowed him down a bit.

I think Flash claims to be the fastest man on Earth, but Superman is an alien. Superman wins because he is an alien.
And the JLA cartoon really isnt made for the hardcore comic owners or fans of the originals. Its made for people like me, who have no previous knowledge of what it is, nor do they care about the backstory. Heck, I never even heard of the Martian dude (and I still believe he doesnt exist outside the show), and until recently I didn't know that the GL wasn't black. So who cares if the Flash is a funny-man in the cartoons? Hes funny, he's only a step up above Batman in terms of usefulness, he needs the funny. |
The flash is pretty useful depending on what happens to be needed. Also, from what I've seen Superman is fast but Flash may I have a slight advantage on him. The one example that comes to mind is when the JL had to open up a wormhole next to the sun with an engine from there ship. The flash had to get going at the speed of light. With a little help from GL, who made a path for him to run on and a slight boost he managed to make it. As far as I know Superman was unable to move that fast even with the help that Flash got. Of course this is my interpretation anyone else care to take a crack at it.

Flash. They have an OLD DC comic in which mxz... whatever, forces superman and the flash to race on foot. The flash was obviously owning superman, even though he had to stop and eat to keep his metabolism going a few times... but memory is foggy as to which of them actually won. I could go find the comic... but I'm too lazy.

Flash is better. I don't my sources, but he is faster.
